Unfortunately I have to get a laptop. I build PC but I have only done very minor things like battery and harddrive swaps for laptops so I don't have much experience with them. Does anyone have any experience with Cyberpower as I seem to get conflicting ratings ranging from really great to really awful. This is a red flag for me but on the the other hand price wise you seem to get alot of bang for you buck especially when compared to the overpriced Alienware laptops. I looked on Newegg which is how I eventuallly was pointed to Cyberpower and by extention Ibuypower but several people posted they are the same company. If not Cyberpower are there any other good laptop manufacturers. I love ASUS parts but they are more expensive than some of the other manufacturers. Basically I want something decent enought o run games so probably a 770 or 780 Nvida and at least a 2.4 Intel CPU. I really don't care if it looks cool or not and I plan on getting an SSD no matter what so even if its an magnetic drive thats not a huge deal as I can just replace it. My PC is still kick ass but I plan on replacing my Desktop with a laptop at least for now till I get a more permanent set up. I am in college and will be sharing space with other people and I don't trust anyone enough to leave a $2500 system lying around. I can take my laptop with me or store it in my trunk and not have to worry about people stealing it or looking at my por..........my work projects.
I don't know about Cyberpower laptops. But I do know that Newegg is an outstanding place to purchase your stuff. My stuff from Newegg has always arrived quickly and in perfect condition. FWIW, here's a current review of a rather pricey one: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2421374,00.asp
Yeah Newegg is how I eventually ended up looking at Cyberpower after I clicked my various preferences. The only brands left were Cyberpower and one other one but it didn't have as good specs for the same price. I went to the Cyberpower site to configure one there and it was a bit more than Neweggs but I could configure it specifically for me. I don't want magnetic drives on a laptop....ever.
