I do not think either is using it as a racist symbol though as I have defended others in other threads, this is the "ok" symbol or "everything is fine" symbol to normal people

it's no different then someone making up a story about tea bags and the tea party all stopped wearing them on hats - people make things up and if enough believe it, that is when people feel they have to stop doing it

I first learned this white power sign in the PADI Open Water basic scuba class. It was a covert signal to identify white racists underwater.

 

Well, racism is the belief that a particular race is inferior or superior to others. A racist would be an individual that follows that particular belief system. It's wrong if you believe in individualism, but then again we have collectivists here who lump everyone into one group and stick with it to the bitter end. It SHOULD apply equally to everyone all the time.

Also, you should know by now some posters here are far more likely to actually answer a question than others. I mean - c'mon.

That's how racism was defined, now it's just subject to the whims of progressives, there's no longer goal posts even. For example, non-whites cannot be racist because racism requires the backing of a power structure.

 

racism to me is treating someone differently based on their race as in denying them jobs or service or attacking them based on their race, not renting to them based on their race, things like that

racism is also thinking all a race is bad and are responsible for bad deeds done by other of their race long before they were born.... just to give the flip side

both white racism and black racism exists, thankfully both are a minority

 

If you question your white privilege, (a stereotype which insinuates an immutable characteristic by virtue of your race, even though race is a 'social construct') your questioning is a manifestation of 'white fragility'.

 

I agree, the "white privilege" nonsense is racist, it may of started with good intentions, but it being used as an attack on all white people now, it's gone too far
