What does homeland security do that the CIA and FBI can't do?

Meh, I dunno. It was created in the wake of 9/11, trampled on our liberties and is massive government bloat. I'm surprised Trump hasn't made such a move already, given his promises about reducing the size of government. Seems he would rather slash taxes on the wealthy and sign on to environmental deregulation to help the coal and oil industries than do anything meaningful and helpful to ordinary Americans.

So what is your stance on the matter? Do you support her efforts to get rid of DHS?

It would depend on what would replace it. I'm in favor of getting the same job done more efficiently if possible. There is bound to be more than one way to skin that cat.

I never was a fan of homeland security and the patriot act. ICE is just a variation of departments that have been around for a very long time. Boarder patrol would merely take up (again) were ICE left off from.

The DHS was another intrusion into our personal lives which was shoved up our asses by Bush’s PATRIOT act after 9/11. It was a 17,000 page document that was rolled out a couple days after the attacks. Pretty fast writing, eh? The whores in the US Congress signed it within a couple weeks before most of them even read it. DHS, ICE and several other major beaurocracies were written into that document which acted as a wrecking ball to the Bill Of Rights.

The bullcrap Patriot Act was a page right out of every communist or fascist dictatorship ever devised. In fact the term Homeland Security was first used by Hitler’s stormtroopers and and Gestappo. I am sure that Stalin and Mao had similar departments too. We already had a department of defense. DHS was just another way for intrusive government to circumvent the constitution and get their noses further into our business. Of course all of those strict constitutionalist, small government conservative Republicans were right on board from the start. People like Ron and Rand Paul, Dennis Kucinich and Michael Moore we’re dead against it and a critical mass if sellout whores from both parties (mostly Republicans) shoved it on through.

Deflection noted. DHS has trained agents to defend the CTR of the United States. So what would you rather? A military division? Civilian volunteers? Please be specific.

Seems to me those duties would be outside the bounds of where the military presently operates. Couter-terrorism is more law enforcement than military, at least on our soil. Ergo, not a military division. Nor would volunteers be a very good idea for obvious reasons. One possibility is expanding the FBI to handle those responsibilities.

Anyway, I can't support it (and therefore must "deflect") until I know what would take its place. It's not a matter to be taken lightly.

Ok, I'll entertain your deflection since you literally volunteered no other alternative solution.

How would expanding the Federal Bureau of Investigation benefit us for border security? All FLETC training graduates must defend the border or should Quantico graduates? That doesn't make any sense. Do you know what the FBI actually does as opposed to the DHS?

You're defeating your own argument here.
