So you think she expects to win votes in Texas? LOL!

Only the fringes are for the people? What a crock!!! You all just think you have magical answers. You don't understand the real world. That's the truth of it.

Anytime something gets complicated, as do most things in real life, it gets dismissed by the fringe because it requires more than 5 seconds of thought.

The fringes remind of a drunk standing on a street corner yelling at a light post and thinking he's fixing the world.

Magical answers does not equal the real world. It is the Elite Political-Private Oligarchy who have been dishing out magical answers to the public for 30-50 years.

People are mad, left and right. We're in a populist period in history against The Establishment, just in case anyone hasn't noticed that yet.

Her popularity does not just end at Texas. That is nonsense.

Her actions affect her standing within her party. Publicity has always been her friend.

You think that bill is real? I thought it might be a snapshot of the bill so far for the month.

She may or may not be a good candidate, but people aren’t that stupid. If she is seen as being pushed just because she is a black women, only for the pubs to try and win, she will be rejected by many as a “uncle Tom”. It has to be a natural, honest process, or it will backfire.

FYI, TX is on its own power grid and does not adhere to the rest of the nation nor the federal regulations.

I suggest you read or even just look at the news photos of people waiting in lines for water.

So again, let me get this all straight -

AOC, who has a net worth of under $1 million, motivates a bunch of her twitter followers to donate $2 million dollars to
10 different Texas based charities to use to help Texans in need, and she is an Evil Person according to conservatives.

Meanwhile, The Donald, who has a net worth of over $2 billion, motivates his past twitter followers to give him $200 million
to help The Donald pay his lawyer fees, help he doesn't even need, and The Donald is a great man according to
    conservatives ...

    *sigh*

Given that thousands of Texas citizens and their businesses are looking at staggering electric bills, and water line repair
bills, they are going to need billions of dollars of aid over the next month. Will The Donald step up to the plate, or will
he continue to use his influence to raise money only for himself?

Our last one term President, Jimmy Carter, spent all the years after he
left office raising money and personally building homes for the underprivileged
(Habitat for Humanity). The Donald has a chance to use his influence to
help people in need - maybe he will surprise us - but so far, his only concern
is his personal loss of power - not those in Texas.

If you type in "Griddy" on Twitter, you'll see a lot of bills from this company a lot of people have posted bills up to $17,000 for February 1 -19th. The CEO of Griddy is telling people they should find another provider...

    upload_2021-2-20_10-41-55.png

Griddy has a variable rate plan which is usually lower than other prices 96% of the time and people have normally paid less than average. Risky type of plan though.

Local news story on power providers and pricing:

Hmmm, $17,000 one month energy bill. That would pay for 14 years of my electric bills.
That's a pretty huge gamble to take.

Yes, signing up for variable-rate wholesale turned out to be pretty dumb. No one saw rates going up 10,000%, but people signed the contract.

Fortunately, Griddy only has 29,000 customers. I expect enough people will default on payment and that company will go bankrupt.

The $17,000 bill was a guy with a home, guest house and office, all with Griddy....so a little over $5,000 each place.

If that bill is real I'd rent a couple U-Hauls and leave that insane place.. I mean what's the use living someplace where everything you make goes to electric or utility bills..

I know after reading this thread I will no longer bitch about my $86 a month electric bill
