With Christian clergy, it is a lack of morality with a few individuals. With muslims, it is their culture which you would know if you had spent time in the middle east even in the 50s and 60s. It has always been common for western women to be groped assaulted sexually, raped by these muslims on their streets. My anthro. prof hated them because he witnessed such behavior so often when he was there in the late 50s and early 60s. When he told his class this, we had a hard time believing it in 1971. So this is old hat here, and its Islamic culture. It is like, you can take the black gangster out of the hood but you cannot take the hood out of the gangster. Enculturation is very powerful stuff. Hard for faux liberals to understand what is so basic. Their ideals clash with reality, so they go into denial. Quite common.

Not a potential God, a god.

Have you ever heard the word 'demigod' or 'so-called-god'?

Pharaoh was considered to be a god as well as many kings and rulers in those days in many places.

So maybe you are into Mythology. Like dungeons and dragons.

okay.. did you know that the world was as one big orgy in the past? Much before your grandparents and parents were ever brought into this world, much before there was ever a United States, much before there were Kings and Queens in Monarchy, the world was as one big orgy.

Then what is wrong with that? And why would you go on and on about people having the right to say yes or no if you have self control?

Are you saying that in your self control you are able to not get a STD? Then why are so many people with STDS?

What 'diseases' was penicillin needed for? Were any of them a sexually transmitted disease or virus?

Before the word Monarchy began to be 'reverenced' there were Rulers with no courts to say one or the other to the King's decrees. We, today, would call them Dictators. But not in the way we use the word Dictator today in certain 'poor' countries. These dictators were the wealthiest, most powerful of their days. World-Wide. The Pharaohs of Egypt were as such.

Gonorrhea and Syphilis are both cured by penicillin (or were, we are entering a post-antibiotic world) and they have been around since at least the middle ages.

What does it matter to you? As long as they are only hurting themselves, who are you to tell people what they can and cannot do?

The reason that so many people have STD's in the U.S. is because the religious right has made a war against education and so condom use in the U.S. is far below other industrialized countries which is why our STD rate is much higher.

Please back that statement up with some facts and evidence. I'll be waiting.

Sure.. Here is one. What did the Sons of Jacob do when they left Egypt and Moses was on the Mount receiving the Commandments? They set up for themselves a Golden Calf, like the ones they had in Egypt. And what did Moses find them doing upon his descent from the Mount?

What about King Ahasuerus and his 'feast'?

    Esther 1:1-4
"Now it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus, (this is Ahasuerus which reigned, from India even unto Ethiopia, over an hundred and seven and twenty provinces:)

2 That in those days, when the king Ahasuerus sat on the throne of his kingdom, which was in Shushan the palace,

3 In the third year of his reign, he made a feast unto all his princes and his servants; the power of Persia and Media, the nobles and princes of the provinces, being before him:

4 When he shewed the riches of his glorious kingdom and the honour of his excellent majesty many days, even an hundred and fourscore days."

    Esther 1:5
"And when these days were expired, the king made a feast unto all the people that were present in Shushan the palace, both unto great and small, seven days, in the court of the garden of the king's palace;"

    Esther 1:7-8
"And they gave them drink in vessels of gold, (the vessels being diverse one from another,) and royal wine in abundance, according to the state of the king.

8 And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure."

    A total of 180 days + 7 days = 187 days of continual feasting.

    What about Pompei?

I said facts and evidence, not fairy tales and myths. The Bible is not a history book.

As for Pompeii, and for the rest of the Roman Empire for that matter, orgies were actually fairly rare. In fact, it was believed that too frequent ejaculation weakened men.
