I used to do something along these lines when I was teaching U.S. history and we were looking at racism as a condition of our society and political issue. I'd show students a picture like this and ask them to write their impression. I'd read what they wrote to the class (minus names). It was a great starting point for discussions. I'd also show pictures like this...



I hope you're someone who feels good about students of all races condemning violence against people of another race.

I condemn nearly all violence pretty generally. A photograph of a violent act such as you have posted would trigger a reaction.
The photograph you have posted is not, in my view, equivalent to the one I posted which does not depict violence.
Your photograph is nasty clearly, what it concerns is less clear. The ‘don’t you wish you were white’ is more focussed and the message is pretty clear and an example from American history.
In my view it is an example of racism and helps to shine a light on the meaning of the word ‘woke’, which means being opposed to the message of those people with their placard.
