Arguments for banning "sex robots"

So you're fine with imposing your personal morality (e.x. of "consent") on people who want to privately sexually abuse children?

Some people probably think it's more fun when the other person can't consent, so who are you to be such a prude and deny them the right to enjoy their personal "kink"?

So far, 7 pages of failing to come up with a valid argument justifying government interference in ones private matters. For fun, lets say mechanical sex devices are banned and ugly people can no longer legally play with them. Lets call it "the war on sexual devices?. How does that benefit society?

 

Most hypothesized legislation would primarily target production and distribution platforms, including the internet, and much less so isolated instance of private possession (similar to how the so-called "war on drugs" primarily targets the dealers).

For example, there is all kinds of tasteless pornographic (including "live action" and pornographic "artwork") easily available on the internet, to the point that you can easily run into it on Youtube or other mediums which can easily be encountered.

Many individuals I've happened to encounter on social media who express interests in pornographic artwork either openly or subtly talk about sexualizing children.

So while I'm just estimating things on my own, I think that the rampant accessibility of this type of content can create social problems, and that the onus should not solely be on others use measures of "filtering" it, which are often ineffective - the onus should be on the distributors to be cracked down on by whatever legal or other means are available to that end.

You can say that but that's another unsubstantiated claim, and no, I do not believe that America is in any way exclusive in the Western world in regards to regulation of drug distribution.

Egypt is not the only ancient civilization where we find this type of art. Every civilization has prostitutes and pornography. I'm sure prostitution predates civilization by thousands of years.

Arguments For Banning Sex Robots is a diddle. Pun intended. The Real World hasn't changed in all of history. We are sexual beings. Why anyone would deny that is beyond me. Wanting to deny it under penalty of law is Victorian.

Right, and since we're "sexual beings" I'm sure that you believe that people who want to rape women and sexually assault children shouldn't be "restricted" either - why should those poor NAMBLA members have their sexuality "denied" by those stingy Victorians?

It's also worth mentioned that "sex" in isolation, or purely physical drives are the lowest level of motivation in humankind - compared to many other animals, humans are much more strongly motivated by the mind and mental achievements - such as sciences, arts, technology, music, civilization and such - which they have put far more time and effort into creating that whatever bare-minimum effort a stone-age dweller would have had to put into physically 'copulating' and reproducing.

If not, then humans would likely still be living as though it were the stone age, since they would have easily been able to meet whatever "bare minimum" was required simply to "survive" and procreate.

Even most "sexual" desires in humankind are compounded with many intertwining mental or egoic desires, so fallaciously trying to reduce human nature to purely "sexual or physical" via cherry picking is rather dishonest as well as unscientific. (The "reptile brain", or part of the brain which regulates purely impulsive or physical drives such as eating and procreating, is only a very small part of the entire human brain and human consciousness).

(And actually not even then, since even animals such as ants restrict their sexual behavior, meaning that doing so is completely "natural").

Yes, your behavior is "restricted" on a daily basis by the law and other social institutions.

In our society, you are not allowed to rape, to sexually abuse minors, or other things you would easily do were you motivated solely by the physical drives and impulses you share with animals.

So simply by living in society on daily basis, you are already being restricted simply by the virtue of existing there.

I don't think it would be accurate to describe these images from a papyrus scroll to be a depiction of the world's oldest profession, at least not the way we think of it. This appears to be more of a depiction of a harem, which is not the same as prostitution. It was part of the King's possessions as anything else in the royal court of the Pharaoh. Of course, only a king could afford the upkeep of a harem.
