I'm sorry, how many more grave sites are empty in Arkansas?

Perhaps you could draw a believable connection between mask mandates and Covid deaths? It is like giving up freedom in return for no increase in safety. Get used to life with covid. It isn't going anywhere. Time to stop letting it change our lives.

It appears this came about because people are tired of it versus a rejection of Fauci's stance on masks.

We have no mask mandate in Oklahoma and only 0.2% of our population has died due to Covid...

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Do you not understand liberty and freedom?

If you like masking up, then by golly mask up. If you don't want to ride in an elevator with others, then wait til one is empty.

If you are horrified at folks buying a lotto ticket and a 6-pack without a mask, then don't go inside

Anyway, just mask up because that does protect you from everything

The lesson to be learned from the OP is that the people of Arkansas do not want to ever go through that again.

Not sure if 'people of Arkansas' and 'AR Senate hacks' are the same thing. We've had mask mandates + distancing in practically every business in Florida for over a year and I dont hear anyone whine about it, except some political hacks. Wearing a mask for 10 mins while in a grocery store is not considered much to "go through" like it was compared to spending a year in Vietnam. Is there anything people won't whine about these days?

In my area on the Treasure Coast, St. Lucie County just repealed its mask mandate on Tuesday night, in a 4 to 1 vote. The meeting was full of citizens calling for its repeal. As one of the commissioners noted, in many places nobody was obeying the mandate.

Can you go to Publix or Home Depot without a mask? Does the 'repeal' make it impossible for businesses to request customers to wear one? It would be weird if it did.

Down here in SE Florida pretty much every business mandates them, and everyone wears them. Big deal? No, not at all.

Do you go to the store without a shirt?......How about shoes????
I bet you like to smoke in stores and restaurants?
Yep did you cry like a baby when all that was taken away?
People wouldnt understand freedom if they were driven over by it!

Neither Publix nor HD enforces it. They and many other stores have the sign on the window, but very few, if any, enforce it. The only place I wear a mask is in the doctors office.

So, Publix and other businesses request customers to wear a mask, and people just say F-U and disrespect the request. Weird attitude, but ok. Down here people respect the request of the business owners and everyone wears them. Business owners don't have to "enforce" it.

If I may ask. - why do you wear one at the doctors office, and not at grocery store?

Seems upside down to me, because if there was one place to wear one, it would be grocery store where people go to buy things to eat, and now they have to eat vegetables which have been sneezed on by virus carriers.

So, why do you wear one at the doctors office? Do you have more respect for doctors than grocery store owners?

I guess because the doctor's office (I have not been since November) are more anal about it, and I had to go there for testing purposes for FAA purposes, an ulterior motive. My Primary Care physician's office is not anal about it, but I go there only to drop off paperwork.

The larger point is that the masks do nothing to prevent the airborne transmission of virus, and that has been shown in numerous lab tests conducted since 1946 here in the US of A. Quite a few people have become informed about that fact, and so they resent being forced to play a silly game that has no basis in science.

In the 2 different Publix I visit, in the last month or so fewer people are wearing masks.

Talking to people on the street, more are taking the very simple position that if a person wants to wear a mask, then by all means do so. I and many others have no objection to that. The point is that mandates are illegitimate and ineffective, as I know 6 people at least who became infected while wearing the mask, and many others have had similar experiences.

Wear the mask if you like, but don't cry to the politicians to impose mandates that nobody respects or obeys.

The law will be respected when it is respectable. The mask mandates are not respectable. Wearing the mask is superstitious, not fact based. I'm not offended by my friends who still wear masks, but I do chuckle at them.

Oh, ok. So you respect the requests if they are anal about it, and otherwise you dont give a rip. Got it. Down here in more populated areas of Florida, people respect the requests of businesses and the concern of their fellow citizens. Different mindset I suppose.

There is no law. It is a matter of respecting the request of business owners and respecting the concerns of your fellow citizens. Some people fart in elevators, while most others do not. There is no law against it, so it boils down to a matter of respect for fellow citizens. You're a farter, aren't ya?

I comply with the office requests because I had an ulterior motive, to accomplish the tests I needed for the feds.

You're right, there is no legitimate law, no legitimate authority, to mandate masks. If there were science showing masks to be effective, it might be another matter. If there were science showing the disease to be highly morbid, it might be another matter.

Those who are offended by people farting in an elevator or not wearing a mask for a minor infection are likely offended easily. So sorry, is all I can say.

Thin skinned individuals don't rule the world, but they sure whine incessantly.

There is no law. Period. It is not a matter of "legitimate law", or authority, it is a matter of respect for fellow citizens.

It's not a matter of being offended either. Some people, especially the elderly, are genuinely afraid of contracting a virus which has killed 500 000 Americans so businesses request their customers to wear a mask to protect them from each other, so they can buy groceries with reduced fear. People down here respect it, and now we have learned that you do not respect it (you are offended by it). It is what it is.

Businesses dont do it because people would be offended if they didn't. Quite the opposite, you have shown that you are offended because they do, and you display it by disrespecting their request.

I am not in a risk group, so personally I am not afraid of the virus, but I respect the fact that some others are concerned. I do not complain about then requesting masks, or not requesting them.

That would be you. You are whining about businesses asking you to wear a mask. That is your whole argument.

Let me rephrase your questions. You are asking a question this late into the pandemic which should have been common knowledge at least what a month in. And now you are saying you will die for your rights. What was the point in having rights if they kill you? How was your right to life enhanced by having a right that killed you?

I understand liberty. I just have no idea what you call liberty actually is other than a worship of despair and death.

I have no intention of dying from Covid. Why do you think it will kill me? I'm not dying for my rights. I'm expressing their value to me.

Because we know there are variants of the disease out there and we know masks are still needed. Basic science.

Darwin always wins these duels with death. Smart people will remain masked, the others will just play with death for themselves and others. Freedom does not include a dance with death, that is not freedom, its stupidity.
