So, what gives this man the right to dictate US policy? The Paris Agreement is not technically a treaty: Congress has not ratified it. What will Jean-Clod do to stop us?

What will he do? Nothing. Doesn't mean he's wrong.

Wow. This guy thinks he can intimidate and bully President Trump into going along with his plan? If anything, this will make President Trump more opposed to him. Someone needs to tell this guy he ain't dealing with Obama.

Pretty much wrong since it is not a ratified treaty.

No idea, that's what I keep seeing. I'm not claiming it's true, but I've seen it enough to think it may be. Although we can just ignore it and increase emissions with no consequences.

    From your link

That means Trump can also remove the U.S. from the accord without a vote. But it will take a while: Under the terms of the agreement, he wouldn't actually be able to withdraw until November 2020.

Non-binding agreement, NEVER RATIFIED BY THE SENATE. Trump can tear the paper up it's written on , and line a bird cage with it.

Funding has already been nixed. This is a non binding accord. There's nothing to withdraw from.

Does that mean the rest of the nations stand with North Korea, who apparently also signed the Paris accord?

    There's the problem.
I was not an Obama hater but I did hate that he tried to do so much on his own. There's a reason this country has a congress. Now Obama is seeing the results of his actions. All those go it alone executive actions are being reversed.

Is Trump going to do the same?

I wish Trump had at least tried to renegotiate for better terms before leaving.

So what. The US skips out on clean air and clean water. We don't need that kind of headache. We can just use Detroit's water supply as
a model for future EPA regulations. Bhopal should be the world's yardstick for environmental regulations - not Paris. And China needs the money - let them take all that silly solar stuff, let them sign new treaties with our biggest trading partners, like the EU and Mexico and Canada. We don't need any of them.

We don't need any stupid solar jobs or clean water to drink. We have coal and soft drinks. We are God's chosen fat slobs. We are special, damnit!
