This is rather amazing.... but quite encouraging really.

Charles is an Atheist and paleontologist and believes that near death experience accounts are merely a coping mechanism until he has one himself. He is shocked to find himself in the out of the body state.

Many Atheists have very positive near death experience accounts but this is one of the first that I read where an Atheist is told that one of their missions in life was to debate overly religious people who were leading humanity in a dangerous direction with their dogmatic and overly simplistic teachings.

Why do you find this encouraging? I don't mean that as a dig. I would like a better understanding of how you've processed this information.

That is an excellent question... By 1990 I felt that my old church and I did
NOT do a very good job of obeying this instruction:

"Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison." (Matthew 5:25)

Near death experiencer Sharon Milliman in her book said that she had been shown by Jesus
and the Father that if people at this time will take one step...... (or better yet two steps)..... toward
the group of people who they consider to be their enemies........
God will back them up and the world will be on the direction toward peace on earth.

I am of the belief that a huge percentage of the conflict between scientists and
theologians is a matter of semantics and the language that we use.

In an effort to make my fascination with theology and NDE accounts somewhat
more understandable to a scientist .... I like to
write things along the line of :
"God is the original and most ancient Intelligence who just
happens to be composed of fundamental energy which is the common denominator to
electromagnetism, gravity, weak and strong nuclear force.

I believe that God has learned and learned and learned and learned and accomplished
greater and greater inventions over infinite time in the past so God... .in a sense is
first and foremost a Scientist and Inventor who just happens to be composed of
fundamental energy. The process of God learning and learning could be termed
"God evolves" and gets better and better at creation and the invention of life forms!

I believe that God Evolved... but Adam and Eve were created... .and before their
creation many forms and species of angels and even aliens were invented. Some of
those angelic and alien life forms went off into an experiment of becoming
competitive and predatory....... and some of the results of those competition
    experiments have been disastrous."

    ........
I wrote up my own attempt to bring theologians and scientists a step or two closer
    together with my blog
    www.CarbonBias.blogspot.ca/

Betty J. Eadie: Embraced By The Light

I just finished listening to an interview with Mrs. Betty J. Eadie and this is from her blog. She was shown how even an alcoholic can have some sort of special mission in life that is not at all obvious to themselves or to anybody around them.

During her NDE she was shown one specific alcoholic who was often laying on a street who had a mission in life to meet the eyes of somebody that they had planned to come back with and once this person would lock eyes with the alcoholic.... then they would remember their very important mission in life and accomplish it.

I think that all of us actually have many missions in life but this part of her NDE account was rather surprising.

I decided to go to her blog after looking at her website and it struck me as quite interesting that an Atheist had a mission in life to calm down some overly religious people through debates that were done through radio.

This will give you an introduction to the NDE of Sharon Milliman.....

NDE Sharon Milliman Near Death Experience Story

I am of the belief that every brush with death that includes a
Life Review with Jesus... (who may or may not choose to reveal Himself or His identity to the near death experiencer) ....
is an important part of the fulfillment of this promise.

"These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father." (John 16:25).

    and....

"The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly." (Jeremiah 23:20)

If Atheism was not being enforced in America this COVID 19 virus could not have been used by corrupt BigMedia to shut down the USA and world economy! If Dr. Tony Fauci was not so convinced that there is no Creator he would not be able to lie so much! I have a theory on how to deal with all this!

In my opinion Latter day Saints are already applying this principle because when I was being discipled by about ten elders since 2018 they always made me feel like I was their brother in Messiah Yeshua - Jesus...... that is the key to getting this started!

"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. " (John 13:35)

I have a theory on how to END ATHEISM as a religion........... (because many of them sure seem to think of it as their religion). The key to pulling this off was given to near death experiencer Mrs. Betty J. Eadie. IF Christians will stop bickering, fighting and accusing each other the Holy Spirit will be poured out with such power that all Atheists will be in awe to see religious people NOT squabbling with each other so much!!!!!

Oh... .when Atheism is no longer enforced in America and Canada through the exaggeration on the idea of separation of church and state this will also be really good news for all Americans because our political leaders will become much less corrupt. In the comments I will explain how Christians and Jews can also come together... .it is amazingly simple too.

    Atheists are God's chosen people

God doesn't want people to blindly worship him or attack others in his name, he wants good people

    Good point.....
it was largely Israeli Atheists and Agnostics who were the strongest supporters of
Operations Moses and Operation Solomon to
rescue the Falasha Jews of Ethiopia and taking them to Israel and giving them their
    citizenship in Israel.

(I made the following comments on this video by Rabbi Alon Anava) :

Who is The Erev Rav? Do they 'run' the world? Are they an evil regime with a lot of power? - Part 1

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Moses

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Solomon

It is a fact of history that many of the most religious Israelis were NOT such enthusiastic supporters of Operation Moses and Operation Solomon!!!!!!!

Religious people have no monopoly on ethical behaviour...... or on unethical behaviour either!

AS I've said before, there are many different ministries because there are many different needs among believers. There are four different Gospels, after all, and Paul's ministry was different than Jesus's, and Jesus's was different than John The Baptist's, and so on. yet they all conform to the same theology. Getting bogged down in congregational wars is just stupid; it's all there in writing, and it is on multiple layers of complexity; this saves both space and time, from an era where such literary skills were a great benefit in cost and time. Neither the Old Testament nor the New were written by fools or con men; such people would never have bothered with such devices for no gain to themselves, only to face death and persecution.

If the word "believers" refers to humans....why do you assume they would have different "needs"??
Perhaps what you are calling "needs" are actually religious preferences.
Maybe what people actually "need" is to know God...which requires no religion at all.
Having so many different "religions" only confuses folks.
They can't help but want their own "religion" to be the "right one"...
which implies (and is sometimes taught) that someone else's "religion" may be lacking

Rubbish. Very few people are exactly alike and experience life in exactly the same way or have the same temptations or emotional needs. Having so many different sects within Christianity is a good thing. I could careless about pagan cults like Hinduism, Buddhism, or Islam, and different sects, like Lutherans or Methodists, different religions, they're within the same religion. Some people will do much better under a sect that emphasizes positive thinking like a Joel Osteen than they would under a Calvinist authoritarian sect, others would feel much better in the traditional Catholic sects, others would feel more comfortable in the Baptist churches. From the illiterate to the sophisticated intellect types, Christianity has a place for them. F.A. Hayek even admits to the superiority of Christianity over all other religions, and its traditions have been especially beneficial to western culture and societies. It lacks the 'fatal conceits' inherent in social Darwinism fictions and the pagan materialisms of 'rational constructionists', i.e. corporatists, whether left or right.

If all that choice and variety confuses some people, or upsets assorted sociopaths and sexual deviants, well, tough ****; it's a personal problem. Go hide in a closet.

I think the superiority over the rest is obvious. The pagan cults are all just manifestations of narcissism, especially Buddhism, which explains its popularity with so many in the U.S., who don't really care for theologies that take the focus off their personal neuroses and egoes and let 'just anybody in'. They have to feel 'Speshul n stuff', so they go with superficial fads. 'Scientology' seems to be big with Hollywood gimps. and Californians in general. I think the border with California should be sealed, to prevent those loons from spreading all over the country like they're doing now.

An Atheist can seem to describe a near death experience and what
they feel they were taught while in the out of the body state with a
simplicity and a clarity that many religious people can't seem to do.

This Atheist does a great job of explaining what it is like to have an out of the body experience / NDE
when she is biking and somebody in a SUV runs into her.

There was a neuro-surgeon who had one few years back, and had a very convincing experience as well. Can't recall his name at the moment.
