August most violent month in Chicago in nearly 20 years

Well, they are going to do their best to defend image of that solidly Democratic city of Chicago - for their Progressive politicians.

'So what, 487 homicides and 2,800 people shot so far this year. Big deal! You Righties think it's terrible.

Chicago murder rates are bad - but still down from when Reagan was President. In fact, violent crime is down all over the country
from when Reagan was President.

It's not great news that "progressives" don't care about the people living in Southside. In fact, it's not news at all.

We've seen what "progressive" caring has gotten the people in Libya and Syria...

You never hear about this (*)(*)(*)(*) because it illustrates the consequences of "progressive" social policy failures. That's why Leftists can only talk about the symptoms of their policy failures and not the policy failures themselves. Today, you'll hear "progressives" incessantly running their mouths about gun control and "social injustice", but when's the last time you heard them talking about this?:

Chicago is an American city. The people being killed are Americans. And some of them are just innocent bystanders.

If some foreign army was killing this many Americans, we'd unite as a country, and whatever country was doing this would get royally f'd up by a bunch of pissed off U.S. Marines in no time.

And yet, since it isn't a foreign country doing it, we eat each other alive over it.

What sense does that make?

 

I'm talking about myself... I'm just saying, you guys seem to update us every week when someone dies in Chicago. I'm just impressed you guys care so much about that place. If I were you, I'd probably not live there anymore and move to one of the 10000s of places in America that is not south side chicago. But I'm very happy you guys care about people without any political motivations. Good for you!

 

They are "Americans" but so what? America at this point is little more than a mass of land where disparate groups all vie for power and influence at the expense of the other. I literally have nothing in common with someone living in South side Chicago. I wouldn't consider Chicago an American city, at least not the America I would recognize or respect as one. It's a liberal city, full of liberal people, creating their own little liberal problems. The only thing to do is stay a safe distance away and point out the mess that is made, hopefully as a cautionary tale to the rest of the country.

Why don't you try addressing something a little more complicated and difficult than your political agenda, like the quote in bold italics in Post #39. I'm truly interested in hearing what you have to say about that, because it was stated right before the homicide rate in Chicago started skyrocketing in the 1960s.

 

Simple question. Did you care about the south side when Reagan and Bush were President... or did you just start caring about when Obama became President? Easy to answer.
