    Here is an idea;

    Automated Firearms ID Approval Device.

    AFIDAD

    Here is how AFIDAD would work,
    It is a 24/7 Portal that would be posted as are ATMs in Malls, Banks etc.

    If someone wants to sell a firearm to another person, they both enter their drivers licences, use the fingerprint reader, each pays $5

    And AFIDAD, without revealing any personal information, gives either a green procede or a red stop signal for no sale,
    The proceed or deny is based on the fingerprint instant check and identity verification.

    Similar and even better as far as making sure the end buyer is not a felon and is the real purchaser.

    The last option is two printed receipts, one for the buyer, one for the seller.

    This is one of those moments where everyone sat back to see what other people would say, I think. Easy universal instant background checks should please the antis... except it makes private gun sales easier. Easier private sales should please the pros....except UBGC require registration to be any kind of effective.

    Stalemate.

    GCAs want to discourage private ownership of firearms at all levels.

    It's reasonable to me, but honestly, it won't do much, except as gun control theater, which I'm ok with (although, they should only charge the seller not the buyer, I also don't like the fingerprint reader, just on general principles). Not many honest private sellers are selling guns to felons. The private sellers selling to felons, for the most part, know exactly what they are doing--straw purchases/sales. They are not going to use the new system.

    The whole point is a voluntary option, easy to use and open 24/7 and no, Registration is still not necessary in this case either.

    You can have an additional option of running a serial number to see if the gun is stolen, no information is archived / stored.
    By the way, this idea is my own....

    It effectively Torpedoes the idea any of us are selling guns to Felons.

    I still have issues with the calls for BCs for private sales, but then denying private, non FFL, citizens access to the NICS... but then , I do understand UBCs aren’t the objective, finding a back door to implementing a national registration system is.
