To me, Trump has always seemed like an extremely dumb guy who likes to talk about things despite being completely out of his depth. This article is consistent with my general impression of the man. He’s just so dumb. It’s unreal. It just goes to show you how great America is when a man of his intelligence can achieve as much as he has.

Just imagine the consequences of a hurricane blowing radioactive wind into Florida, turning the entire state into Chernobyl.

I consider Axios about as reliable as Breitbart. They will need more than "unnamed source" to prove their story credible. Though I do agree that this does sound like something Trump might ask, it also sound like nothing more than made up crap in order to paint trump as an idiot. If he is an idiot, he seems to have done quite well in order to be elected POTUS. It really says a lot about those that ran against him if they could not even beat an idiot.

 

I think Dems would have a very good chance at taking the presidency if they fronted a reasonable candidate. I’d even settle for John Kerry.
But no, they need to front Pocahontas and Biden!

You and I have sparred with each other with considerable bitterness and acrimony before, @Thedimon , but this time I have to agree with you, and even "liked" your post. I'd still have to fight back my gag-reflex on a empty-minded liberal putz like John Kerry, but even as a right-wing Conservative, I find myself getting more and more dissatisfied with Trump (even though you have derided me as being some kind of "Boris"....)

I don't know whether Trump seriously suggested that we should drop hydrogen bombs in the middle of hurricanes or not, but his ranting about how we need to go back to crushing interest rates -- NOW -- when we are finally growing the economy and while the Fed was making some progress on draining the toxic sh*t out of that five trillion dollar 'balance sheet' it ran up while 'rescuing' all the criminals and idiots on Wall Street ten years ago is simply, uh, not sane!

And I agree with you about Pence. Oh, the hardcore libs hate the man because he's a Christian, but I find it much, much more troubling to reflect on the reality of a president who changes his mind about damned near EVERYTHING two or three times a week.

That they may try to fool the public by nominating a "moderate" won't change the fact that the entire base of the party is insane and a victory will go into their heads and normalize/ validate the last 4 years of their activities.

We've exploded some 4000+ nuclear bombs in our atmosphere. If a nuke had a high probability of dispelling a hurricane like Katrina, cleaning up the fallout would likely be cheaper than rebuilding New Orleans.

That said, I agree that its not a good idea, on the basis that fallout has far more lasting effects than hurricane damage. But I don't think merely exploring the option is 'dumb.'

If, for example, the fallout would likely be limited to 'at sea', the increase in radioactivity would barely register compared to the effects of, say, the Fukishima disaster. Surely attempting to 'nuke out' a hurricane is no more insane than building a nuclear reactor near the ocean, a practice we commonly engage in.

I think both are insane, personally.

Man actually effecting weather, and controlling it for our betterment? It seems that these are the same folks who tell us that not breathing as often will save the planet... When I was a kid I remember hearing that there were bright lights who suggested that we launch a nuclear b0mb at the moon so we can see that the rocket got there. Someone even once suggested that we use atomic bOmblettes as Fourth of July fireworks do that the entire country can aee them all at once.
