So I found what I think is the same information and I will go through it to see if its the same material you were reading.

A new opinion piece from The New York Times framed Crisis Pregnancy Centers (C.P.C.s) as “deceptive” organizations that engage in medical “misinformation,” and urged individuals to take action in defunding them on Thursday.

“Their names sound benign, even comforting: Pregnancy Help Center. Options for Women. Clarity Clinic. You might not notice them if you drove by,” the piece began with interactive graphics, as more and more pictures of the buildings floated by.

“But crisis pregnancy centers are frontline outposts in the war against abortion. And there are more than 2,000 of them in the United States,” it said as the images turned to black and white then a U.S. map of all the C.P.C.s appeared.

The two main authors of the opinion piece, Carly Thomsen and Carrie N. Baker, are both pro-choice professors in gender, sexuality and feminist studies and the study of women and gender, respectively.

They alleged that “anti-abortion activists” have spent “decades” fighting Roe v. Wade while cultivating a “network” of “so-called pregnancy centers,” which they claimed use deceptive practices in an attempt to manipulate women out of abortions, sometimes using taxpayer dollars. The op-ed was riddled with weasel words like “can,” “may,” “might” and “could,” to imply the worst.

The piece also framed C.P.C.s as organizations with an “agenda” that “takes advantage” of women’s “economic vulnerability,” and insinuated that more Black women will die if they engage with these centers.

In addition, the piece suggested “harms that C.P.C.s can have on…communities,” including the promotion of “false or misleading” medical information and the sharing of women’s private health information with “national anti-abortion networks.”

“Once inside a C.P.C., women can be greeted by volunteers or staff members wearing lab coats or hospital scrubs who, despite their appearance, are usually not medical professionals. These representatives might try to frighten women by falsely claiming that abortions lead to breast cancer, mental health issues or infertility,” the piece purported.

So I can comment on what I know of the dozens of crisis pregnancy centers I have visited.

1. Nobody wears scrubs (EVER) except for nurses when giving a vaginal sonograms which is by appointment only as no crisis pregnancy center has nurses on staff. They are usually once a week volunteers who come in to give those. Vaginal sonograms are needed to verify if an early pregnancy is tubular or an actual pregnancy as Planned Parenthood will perform an abortion no matter if you are actually pregnant or not.

2. Their is no tax money available to crisis pregnancy centers. All money they receive is from sponsors, churches, or individual support from the communities.

3. They will not ever share any medical information with anyone. I have no idea where that came from. They don't even inform family members

4. They can't be defunded because there is no tax payer money provided.

5. I never heard of black women dying from an abortion and I have never heard of anyone telling black women they will die from an abortion. If anything, they would tell them of women dying from birth. Thats just doesn't make any sense

6. Nobody in the history of crisis centers have ever told any woman they would die from breast cancer, or mental health issues. Thats just idiotic.

So from my perspective, this is just made up BS. There is so much misinformation in that one article that you just couldn't take it seriously.
These centers offer counseling for post abortion women, as well as they hustle for donations from WalMart and other community stores to give away free cribs, high chairs, car seats, baby cloths, formula, maternity cloths for the mother, and toys.

It is beyond belief how anyone could write such a false depiction of what they do.

 

Well that's an absolute disgrace isn't it? If tax payer money goes to abortion mills, then it should go to the organisations which provide an alternative to abortion.

It is what it is. I am amazed these people claim they will cut off CPC. Planned Parenthood gets millions annually but there is no provisions for CPC.

Yeah, no kidding. Its what they claim the CPCs are telling black women. Now I am sure somebody has died in the past from a botched abortion but in the 30 years my wife has been in the business, I have never even heard of it.

Its so far in left field its what you would expect. Make it sound crazy enough and people will believe it. But it just ain't true. In fact, its just out right lies.
But people will believe what they want to believe.

They will never get it. All they know is what CNN tells them to regurgitate.
If the SCOTUS overturns Roe, all it means is the people get to vote on it per state instead of the SCOTUS legislating from the bench.
What they are really afraid of is the world doesn't see it their way.
I mean think about an organization, that charges NOTHING, but gives away anything and everything you need to take care of a baby and the mother for free, with free medical care, free counseling, providing safe houses for mothers for free, and they are the bad guys?
Yet give Planned Parenthood billions annually and put an abortion clinic in every black neighborhood aborting more black babies than are being born, and they are the heros.

This is the world in which we live.

I'm not in favor of banning abortion, and I do support the MAGA concept and objectives. If we really want to improve the country, we need to consider banning liberals and progressives. That would solve a multitude of problems . They tend to arrive at really stupid conclusions- such as an abortion law being the cause of massive corruption in leadership, the reason who people live in dirt-floor shacks. Or in this country, that you charge someone with sexual harrassment for addressing you with the wrong pronoun after you have told them what you prefer... these people really know what's important. Not.

 

Development of the baby. Once past the 1st trimester the baby is removed in pieces.

 

So for you it's about HOW the abortion occurs, rather than whether it is a life and should be protected. So if babies had to be removed in pieces in the first trimester, you would be against first trimester abortion?

 

I would prefer there were no abortions except for medical reasons. But being realistic, there will always be abortions.
Now you have to chose a time frame.

That as a specific example, but of a mindset that generally seems to revolve around the idea that common sense is obsolete and bat-shat crazy should replace it.

You would laugh if you heard that coming from a bunch of seriously stoned drug addicts or drunks, and it would be amusing, but in this setting it speaks to complete loss of understanding of absolute fact. The same person would not answer a question as to what defines a woman, stating "everyone can identify for themselves".

Giving such things any hearing at all degrades the standards that define us as rational people. It diminishes us; reduces the capacity of our society to function on a productive level.

 

They will never make abortions illegal no matter how much chatter you hear about some crazy politician ranting about it.

To be fair, when she was invited, the members of the House Judiciary Committee might not have had any idea that she is THAT stupid!
