Some have tried, but every time someone tries to give free contraception away, some religious group gets its knickers in a knot and puts a stop to it.

You can't target DDT to kill just insects. It's like using a nuke instead of a sniper's rifle. It is highly destructive on the local environment when used indiscriminately.

    HIStory
    Not
    HERstory - the P.C. version

Africa, late fifties, sixties - famine, famine, famine
Courtesy of the U.N. vaccination programs in the early fifties.

Starving people don't grow food too well either.
And what of land, not productive like the difference between Rhodesia a food exporter and
Zimbabwe a starving nation on the same turf.
History shows vaccination programs produce famine in Africa.
Any program, to be meaningful must involve the means to sustain a vaccinated population.

Those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it.

So you are saying that it is better to let people die of Malaria than starvation? Instead, how about we fix both?

    PLEASE
    Fix both.
Save lives and plan to feed them, water, housing, schools, transportation
could it be they are better off being, "Africa", with population control via diseases
    rather than famine.

Here's an idea, how about we give them immunization and birth control.

Quite so. I remember some liberal ( ) woman taking issue with me over it, accusing me of trying to restrict how many children anyone should be allowed to have. She called me a fascist.

    Drug-resistant Malaria possibility in Africa...
    :omg:
Prospect of Drug-resistant Malaria Stirs Concern in Africa
July 14, 2016 — The number of new malaria cases in Africa fell 42 percent from 2000 to 2015, according to the World Health Organization. The drop was due in large part to insecticide-treated mosquito nets, indoor spraying and better access to effective treatments. But this progress could be derailed by a new wave of drug-resistant malaria that's currently affecting Asia.

HIV Treatment Lagging in West Africa
July 11, 2016 — The prevalence of HIV/AIDS is relatively low in West Africa compared to the rest of Africa, but treatment rates there are equally low, say activists and health care workers. In Ivory Coast, about two-thirds of people living with HIV/AIDS are not on antiretroviral treatment.

When I was in the Kruger National Park end last year, I found out they spray every three months for mosquitos, it was in the middle of summer and I didn't see a single mosquito for a whole week

Usin' chickens to ward off malaria mosquitoes...
    :confusion:
    Malaria Mosquitoes Repelled by Chickens
July 21, 2016 - If you live in sub-Saharian Africa in a malaria endemic area, it might not be such a crazy idea to sleep next to a chicken. It turns out some mosquitoes are repelled by the odor of chickens, potentially offering another cheap protection method against the mosquito-borne illness.

    Ah yes, "history shows...."

    How inane can one get.

If you see someone floundering in the water, do you first consider that after you rescue them from certain death...
YOU HAVE TO FEED THEM FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE?

A small child falls onto the subway tracks as a train is approaching. If you jump down and save that child's life,
DO YOU HAVE TO FEED HIM FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE?

The United States gave of itself tremendously to defeat the Nazis throughout Europe.
DID WE FEED EUROPE AFTER THE END OF WORLD WAR II, or did the people continue working to feed themselves?

Considerate people even rescue animals, such as beached whales and porpoises, and never think of feeding them for the rest of their lives.
But you think so little of those black Africans that you'd as soon let them die as spray some DDT to kill mosquitoes. Your *compassion* is not remotely compassionate.

Those who make statements so obviously wrong as you did, and insist on them with utmost authority as you did, really need to be ignored.

Quite so. Witness Hillary Clinton's success at lying.
In addition, there is socialism, Darwinism, and climate *change*.
Every time somebody tries to refute the evils of socialism, and the nonsense of Darwinism or climate *change*, Leftists get their knickers in a knot and try to shut them/us up, claiming for themselves intellectual, moral, and rational supremacy.

More survivors, more mouths to feed their society is not equipped to handle.
If you plan to improve childhood mortality, plan to feed them too.
What part don't you get? The U.N. Africa Vaccination programs created the great famines in Africa in the sixties.

Moving Malaria Treatment Closer to Home...

As Warming Brings More Malaria, Kenya Moves Treatment Closer to Home
August 01, 2017 — When it rains in Emusala village, a person sick with a fever can find it hard to get to the nearest health center, which requires a trip along the slippery footpaths that lead to the nearest main road some 10km (6 miles) away, in the heart of Western Kenya's Kakamega County. But if the fever spells the onset of malaria, rapid diagnosis and treatment are essential.
