Still chasing that Diversity, instead of Unity. Unless you are making a pretty bag of candies or a painting, chasing specific amounts of color is a foolish waste of time. I feel bad for the 2 high school choruses who focused on music over making sure they had 3White-3Black-3Asian-3Gay-Etc etc.

Shame on the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for putting other qualifications above the music.

 

How the heck are they supposed to add more diversity? Black people can't sing.

Because in a heavily black city, a WHITE choir from WEALTHY schools performing YEAR after YEAR is a pretty sure sign of some other races getting screwed, and too much for even the racist South to feel comfortable to keep doing!

So according to your retarded view, we should force the NBA to have more whites, asians and hispanics to more properly reflect diversity. The color of skin should never be an excuse for racism, which makes one wonder why you seem to be preaching racism. Tell us honestly. Do you think the ONLY form racism takes is racism against blacks? If one were to flip your argument you would be having a fit trying to label everyone involved as racist.

 

Its acknowledged in the article that the choir is awesome, but its the diversity factor that is in play here. If they suck, why not remove them for that and not make a big deal about their color..or lack there of.. I don't think we would be having this conversation if the kids were kept from singing because they were black. You'd be as appalled as I am.

Music has many aspects to it, and the ability to sing the latest Top 40 tripe and that everyone in the choir could afford nose jobs hardly defines "superior music"!

I saw nothing in the article that said ANY of the choirs considered "sucked." Frankly there is no statement in the article that any one choir performs any better than any other choir. Not sure how this turned into a which choir performs better issue. Here's what was actually said...

Okay so at LEAST 12 talented choirs and only two have had the chance to perform non stop for 4 years. So choosing another choir for this year should start a race war why?

Skills, knowledge, aptitude and ability should be the only criteria for any position in america.

This decision was made based on the race of participants, period. You can drag all this other stuff in to try and divert the topic, but the bottom line is that skin color was the factor in not allowing the kids to perform.
