Often, posters here say or indicate that they think that their "side" will win the next election. I just wanted to check if that's true or just a misunderstanding on my part. Now let's just see if I'm able to create a poll here. I added the something else options not necessarily with winning elections in mind, not everyone who votes for a third party expects them to win. Include in that option voting for someone else and thinking that they will make a better result than others seem to think that they will. Thoughts? Edit: Non-Americans or non-voters get to vote what they would vote for if they could.
A bigger problem, Swensson, is people thining that everyone thinks like "us." All groups are self-selecting but I sat through a lot of college classes where when almost all the students agreed on something it became, everyone agrees. This is most dangerous when it's a self-centered ruler like the current U.S. emperor who won't allow anyone around who doesn't admire his new clothes.
I agree this is not the biggest of problems, I just want to see if it's an effect I made up or if it actually happens. I hope this doesn't become one of all those other threads which just end up off topic.
In the absence of better alternatives, I think I'll be voting democrat. And, in the absence of better alternatives, I think the democrats will win.
Have no clue at this point. It also depends on what you mean by "win". Alot can happen between today and election day. I do think that the Republicans will lose quite a few seats in the House. They may actually pick up a couple in the Senate but I don't think control of either house will change hands. Obama will most likely win another term, I don't think the Republicans really want to win the Presidency anyways based on who is likely to get their nomination.
I will vote tactically for NZ First, hoping that it will gain enough seats to join a coalition that will unseat the rightwing noddies that want to sell us to foreigners. Sorry, I guess "coalition" is something an American would not understand.
