Lots of authoritarians, at least, in both parties. An authoritarian has one foot in fascism.
BTW, when most politicians say they're for democracy (or concerned about our democracy), they're lying.

Absolutely true. Those who called Trump fascist were more likely to be fascist than Trump. It was one of the deceitful (and successful) smearing tactics against Trump's election in 2020.

There are famous communists in the weeds who're not pushing for a disinformation board like Maher and Rogan, for examples. Maher and Rogan are anti-capitalist but not anti-first amendment (or second amendment). I guess, that makes Maher and Rogan conservatives who hate capitalism. What an oxymoron. Conservatives like Rogan and Maher who demand the wishes of the people be heard except for economy.:roflol:

So to be a Dem they have to support an unconstitutional attempt to limit speech?

For example, the living politicians during the Iraq, Afghanistan and Ukranian wars, for examples, are all tyrants who advocated for America having an overreaching, IMO, influence in the world militarily and politically.

Tulsi is a conservative. Most dems are the opposite of conservative. Lots of GOPs are the opposite of conservative. The problem with our current form of government is it's dysfunctional and not conforming to the ideology of the founders because the current form of American government refuses to compromise (is authoritarian, for example).

Progressives don't seem to have a problem with the government "advising" our media on mis/disinformation--government deciding what is truth and what isn't.

Homeland security is a powerful arm of government--they have full potential and power to go beyond "advising". At the least spreading "chill and fear" and at the most having the power to dispatch Fbi to homes of people who express views politicians in power don't want expressed.. Not to mention intimidation towards privately or publicly owned social media and online platforms.

It's a classic step towards fascism that puts government in control over what people see and hear with the power to extinguish speech.

So....we need to vote out those politicians that are comfortable with this or who have a "wait and see attitude". This needs to be front and center in our upcoming elections.

That's the hypocrisy of communism: communism is for everyone but the communists.

Cortez and the rest of them don't want their communist policies to apply to THEM. It's all about control.

IMO many Americans are waking up, but many are still hopelessly gullible.

I'm saying I have no reason to support or oppose it. Unless there is some reason to ACTUALLY think that anyone's rights are violated (which I've asked for for pages now, and now one has been able to provide), then trying to appeal to my libertarianism to oppose it just doesn't work. I definitely disagree with folks like @Starcastle , who claim that this is the next Holocaust. Can we at least agree on that?

No, an actual threat of either would be enough for me to dispatch. Try being honest for at least one post. Meanwhile, probably not a good idea for Starcastle to get a job as a police dispatcher. He'd send cops to anyone with a Biden sign in their yard because he's watched too much Infowars and thinks that the Illuminati is planning the next Holocaust.

Where's the unconstitutional attempt to limit speech? Will you be the first person on the thread to be able to answer?

He tried to do the things you are making up bull **** about. He just failed. He wanted to make it illegal to burn your own flag. He failed. He wanted to make it illegal to call his building plans ugly. He failed. He wanted to make it illegal to express an opinion about his business value that disagreed with his own subjective value. He failed. He wanted to take broadcasting rights away from networks that criticized him. He failed. Etc. Etc. No modern president has, over the course of his life, been more explicitly anti-1st Amendment. Oh, but the WH may send out some press releases, so that's basically the Holocaust :roflol:

There are some people that based their actions on principle rather than goose stepping in sync with their party and a false dichotomy.

The Biden administration is not very forthcoming about what this board will do specifically an how it will function. However, most of us understand that if something looks like a duck, quacks, and has webbed feet it is a duck. If nothing else, the function of the Biden ministry of truth is to intimidate political opposition.

Let me know when you have facts to work with a f we can revisit it then. Until then, I'm not going to accuse someone of being the next Hitler without evidence to work with. As much as the intellectual integrity offends you guys, you'll have to live with it.

Ok. Fair enough. I have made a mental note to revisit this issue and when I do will expect your comment. Of course, if the board actually does nothing it will, at a minimum, be a total waste of taxpayer money.

If you can find anything they do or have even proposed to do that would in any way violate anyone's rights, let me know.

The objective is to attack speech, suppress it and intimidate. Just like with your hero's attempt to have the federal government monitoring school board meetings.

I'm sure you will lie about this but would you be fine with Trump doing this while he was president? Go ahead and lie and say yes. Trump using the FBI to monitor school board meeting would have been fine with you right?

Pointless. If it’s monitoring Americans it won’t survive a court. If it’s to combat outside influences from other countries you may want to rename it.

Oh I'm an info wars conservative now? The poster who regularly says that Trump should not run in 2024 and should not be doing rallies? That poster? The poster who defends RINOs? Quote verbatim any post I have ever written that smacks of conspiracy theories. Go ahead. Perhaps you can make one up.

I'm a civil libertarian and will fight any attempt by any president to suppress speech or intimidate people from speaking. I'm against ANY use or abuse of government power to suppress speech and every American should agree with me.

Your defense of this crap is not casual or philosophical. It is fanatical! You are a Biden groupie fighting and arguing with every single poster like this is your religion. It is pathetic.

Fighting things in court takes time. Damaged parties have to file suits. The best way is to vote them out of office the first chance we get. November!

I will wait to see what the charter is. I for one believe we need something that prevents foreign meddling like the last two elections.
