A good picture for your post.

Obama Kailua Beach House with multiple waterfalls and lagoon. As if pumping water is somehow producing less Carbon than a little person's cieling fan.

No one needs those giant homes Obama lives in. No one, e.g., Obama and wife, need to fly from DC to LA on a dedicated airplane while his wife flys the same place on the same day in another dedicated airplane. But as Orwell said. All animals are equal but some are more equal than others.

So because they've never failed for you, they must 'never fail'?

Also, this wasn't in the article for some reason

They say. 40% savings is pretty decent with a 4 year turnaround. Especially considering the average lifespan seems to be about 6-10 years, depending on usage. So if you can get yours to last longer, you'll be saving more.

Also, no comment regarding the fact that this is required for the DoE to do by Reagans legislation?

Been to DC a couple times and just amazed at lunch time in the HUGE government building complexes all the people who pour out and you have to wonder what is it they do all day? I have a daughter in law who when she separated from the USMC, marrying my USMC son, went to work for the Social Security Administration. Now she was used to working shorthanded under extreme conditions and her job was to get the job DONE else they would find someone who would. This included Afghanistan and Iraq during the wars. She lasted a year at the SSA and quit in disgust at the waste and fraud and lazy people engaged in make work and how to justify their cushy jobs while they planned the next "motivational" day party.

In the private sector you know if they company which is employing you loses money you are out a job. In the government if your department needs more money for more wasteful spending just cry BUT THE PEOPLE WILL SUFFER and you get a budget increase and make sure the politicians know you vote for those who grant you raises above the private sectors and benefits far and above the private sector while almost guarantying you can never be fired.

I can sweat a little extra if the greatest president of all time (Biden) needs us to cut our energy use. Their may be migrants or someone else who needs the energy more than me. Heck, maybe they need to re route it to ukraine!

The GOP should demand the alarmists like Biden, Kerry, Obama, etc, release the gas, electric and water bills for each home they own.

I’ve never seen a ceiling fan fail. Ever.

Even Reagan wasn’t perfect. Close, but not perfect.

I'll wager there are a lot of things you have never seen that exist anyway.

    Lol
The majority of the problems in the US can be traced back to Reagan. Many helped along the way, but Nancy and her friends used him like a puppet and started the US on its downward trajectory.

I've had it happen twice but no idea how old they were since they came with the house. One I replaced the whole fan. The other was just the chain for the light which I was able to replace for about 10 bucks.

No, my bet is that energy efficiency is not the primary factor in fan decisions.

First, new construction is far more likely to be price sensitive. Builders might want 1,000 fans for their building, for example.

Next, individual purchases are probably more focused on looks.

Also, I haven't seen any estimate of the cost of more efficient fans.

This is one of those factors that makes a difference when you consider our total population, not when you consider you living room.

I always sort of shared your opinion to some degree. But after 33 years as a Federal employee I retired and went to private industry and was shocked to find the people there even more incompetent and lazy. Face it. A certain number of people in high positions are incompetent per the Peter Principle alone. I was shocked at how incompetent executives in private industry were, but then I recalled the guy that created the Dilbert comic came from and based his material on private industry. Two things to keep in mind. Firstly. all Government functions are mandated by Congress. So what politicians or political parties or voters want to reduce government spending or the size of government. I spent the end of my career running an organization that produced statistics and reports mandated by Federal law, i.e., Congress. So what Congress wants, they get. The second thing to remember is that when the so called conservative Ron Reagan outsourced most of the government to contractors the Federal budget and size of the government greatly increased. And of course the fraud opportunities greatly increased with the outsourcing. I worked in DC before the DC metro/subway. A lot of the polities the DC metro implemented were designed to prevent the New York subway experience. The DC system has an effective transit police force and effective rules and regulations. As far as I know they do not work for the Federal government or have anything to do with the Federal Government. So, the DC government is simply done a better job with mass transportation crime than NYC. And as a final comment mst of the Federal employees working for me in DC had a graduate college degree. How would this compare to private industry? And the thing you don't mention is the very painful commute of the government employees you disparage and the absurd, almost unbelievable cost of housing around DC.

Sorry for the rant, but many government employees are good people. The political appointees at the top are well...political appointees.

BTW, isn't the SSA HQ located in Baltimore and not DC?

Next issue Biden administration will come after is – if you can have your Privet part or not. If a man can keep his private part or cut it off, or a woman can have her private part or replace it will a man’s private part.

Oh .. my mistake , Biden can’t come after American’s private part, republican already claim this one is their main topic.

So after giving this some thought, I went ahead and removed all the ceiling fans from my household. Kids were upset at first, but once I explained why we are doing this they were OK with it. I got them paper fans (recycled of course) and that's helping mitigate the heat. My kids are coming around, and agree they would rather be a little warm than use those stupid, evil , fossil fuels.

Then WHY is the government wasting our taxpayer dollars even considering it???????? And the builder is going to buy cheap but attractive no whether over 30 years it will save $50 in electricity while costing $50 more to purchase.

My bet is that the power saving has to do with the totality of the building industry.

It's not about you, it's about the 1.7 million new housing unit starts in the USA each year times the number of fans per housing unit.

This rule doesn't cause anyone to replace their fans.

You should probably go all out and unplug the fridge, think of all the pollution you’ll prevent.

This rule has no legitimate constitutional justification.

    More fool you

Especially in light of the fact there is no government mandate to do so
