I can't believe anyone is actually saying that. Did you not see him debate Hillary last time? He is a total and complete oaf, lout, and buffoon. He tries to bully his opponent into somehow forgetting that what he is saying is nothing more than maundering word salad and has a total zero of facts and argument behind it. Most critics gave the whole thing to Hillary by a wide margin and she is about the worst debater put into the candidacy of any major party for a long time

Biden will tear him a new one and ream it out nicely.

Like most threads about Biden, this thread has aged really badly for the Trump cultists. Boy howdy, do they look stupid now.

Trump cultists, why is it that nearly every one of you made the whackaloon prediction that Biden wouldn't show? What prompted you to say such a stupid thing?

Are you going to unthinkingly parrot the next stupid thing you hear about Biden? Of course you will. The cult commands it.

I won't disagree with you since I has always believed there should age limits on all politicians. Senility and declining mental capacity would be part of it however IMO that is just a small part of it. I caution in finding examples like these and pointing a medical conclusion. Even to those with medical backgrounds and expertise I think it is highly unprofessional to try to diagnose someone without meeting with them and testing them in person. Essentially you are trying to present a narrative that you wish is true but I am sure in all honesty you would accept this type of analyst of someone's mental health. Anyone can find examples of even mentally competent people and string together this type of narrative. People have done it with Trump all the time. Again I say unless you have medical expertise and you have personally examined or been consulted about a patient your thoughts are just unfounded opinion.

 

Difference is Biden does this often as not.

I won't deny Biden does not have failing mental capacity due to his age. I would expect it with anyone his age. I also believe there is a decline in mental capacity in the president too. You compare Trump's interviews now to the ones he did 20 years ago and you see a totally different person. There is no escaping it. People will point to some exceptions but as people age their mental faculties decline. Memories and the ability to concentrate start to fail and the ability to acquire new information is much more difficult than someone younger. I would like to see the system change and we put hard age limits on politicians just like many other professions. Until then we are going to have to live with the consequences. Who knows, maybe if Biden is elected his behavior will lead to change in the system where people over 65 or some other arbitrary age can no longer run for office.

 

Age discrimination is as ugly as any other form of discrimination and you are promoting it. With age comes wisdom is true more often than not.
It's also true age can lead to cognitive impairment but to say all old people suffer from that is just the same as saying black people are of inferior intelligence.

 

There are many professions that have age limits. Airline pilots, truck drivers, bus drivers, military to name a few. The cognitive decline in relation to age is well documented in the scientific literature. We also discriminate against the young for drinking, driving, marriage etc... Defining how people are treated based on age is nothing new. Seniors get discounts is that discrimination?

 

Professions you speak of are about reaction time which is physical not mental.
Youth restrictions comparison is absurd. You cant have five year olds driving.
Senior discounts are a reward. Congratulations you got old. LOL

 

Also it is interesting that you are accusing me of discrimination when I am the one trying to defend Biden. I am willing to say let the doctors decide whether he is fit to serve or not. You want to discount him based on an observation from a video. I am guessing if he was 40 you would not even be bringing this up. So without any medical data you are prepared to pass judgement. I just said you are probably correct but I will leave that decision to the experts. It seem like I am being much more fair to the elderly than you are.

 

You can enlist in the military at 17 but you cannot drink until you are 21.

You proposed an age limit on being president based on age prejudice. I've said nothing about Biden's age and have only commented on his obvious cognitive impairment.

 

A better comparison would be the minimum age to be president which again is a maturity issue. Can you imagine an 18 year old president?

 

I do support age limits on politicians. If you look at my original post I said that cognitive decline is a SMALL part of it. The main reason is more complex and I don't want to hijack your thread or know if I have the time to go through it.

 

That is a good comparison. So just as I would support a minimum age for president I would support a maximum age.
