Well if you could make that assumption, then I can assume that things would have been way worse if Trump would have won the election.
I can woulda coulda shoulda with the best of them, but I try not to as I realize that most of my thoughts in that direction would be pulled out of my ass.

Would you mind sending an email to our Secretary of Energy since she is clueless as to how much oil we use a day even thought she came up with this scheme claiming it will lower prices.

Energy Secretary Doesn't Know How Much Oil The U.S. Consumes Per Day

I mean she was part of the decision making process wasn't she? Didn't they all get together and say "hmmmm now how much do we use and how much would we have to release to have any effect?"? Did they not have any experts in the decision making loop who would point this out to them? Or did they just come up with a number and then think we would be too stupid to figure it out?

Nor did I, but I try to be honest with myself as to the condition of the world as it is. Bias and pride sometimes get in the way, but I try to look at things objectively. We are hopefully coming out of a world wide pandemic situation. To learn from it and recover, we have to accurately assess the causes to get to the solutions.
The only thing I hear from Republican minded people is that it's socialism, marxists, Demorats, lefties, etc who are the cause of all the problems, and that isn't true just like if the Republicans were in control they wouldn't fix everything. When the Republicans had the house, senate and White House, they didn't get a whole lot done like they talked about. Tax cuts that won't pay for themselves, and spent a lot of money.
Wall, paid for? Great healthcare plan that we love and pay less for? Get out of Afghanistan? Infrastucture bill? Amazing economy? At the end of a Republican led period, we were left with more bills and less income.
Economic repurcussions like we're seeing take time to accumulate, and straighten out.
You don't know me, but I'm terribly happy to be a US citizen. If you're not, what have you done to try to improve it besides complain?
Good lord, now you remind me of my wife!
    (That was a joke)

You seem to not know anything about O&G. Until you do, explaining is a waste of my time.

^^^^^^ Don't the Germans know gas is not a renewable? :roflol: The irony of Germans burning coal and Nordstream 1 and 2 from Russia. LMAO.

What I do is go to work 40 hours and pay my taxes and vote for who I feel can best lead the country.

What have you done? Biden is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

I'm very happy to be a US citizen born and raised, this does not mean that I can't feel unsatisfied with the current state of the country.

But hey you did a good job hitting all the partisan talking points.

Almost sounds like complaining to me!

Good post in general .. pointing out some deficiencies .. but seems you are blaming Red for more than they are due. We all happy to be "merican" .. but what is the purpose of this statement .. if not to then apologize for deficiency ... and we should not be apologizing for deficiency .. we should be raising it up on a high pillar .. and correcting it.

Sometimes we hear criticism of "merica" -- right away to the defensive .. 'YOUR anti merican" - when in reality the most Patriotic and American thing you can do is criticize the Gov't .. kind of the point of our system

Red and Blue are the same w/r to all issues you brought up .. "Infrastructure - Afghanistan - Healthcare" - diverge slightly on economy on the basis of the political bandwagon.. They differ on Hot Button issues ... immigration - wall - gay marriage .. things that do not really have much to do with much .. and do not effect the status quo

    1) Healthcare -- Obamacare was lipstick on a pig .. did not address the systemic issues leading to 3.5 Trillion dollar total spend -2018 .. Fed Revenue for the year was 3.6 Trillion. A system of Healthcare Extortion .. Other first world nations pay half for equivalent care.

There is 1.8 Trillion on the table 50% the Gov't Share. 900 Billion Biden's infrastructure bill was what 1.2 Trillion over 10 years - 120 Billion a year - Whoop tee do. How about we fix the HC system and we have 900 Billion per year... citizens having an extra 900 Billion a year in pocket..

Neither Red nor Blue will change the status quo .. they will keep padding pockets of the Oligopolies that run Washington -- and everybody knows it.

    2) Blue used to be anti-war .. now they are Neocon's .. Red never changed .. and we currently spend roughly 1.2 Trillion/year on the Military Industrial Complex .. over last 20 years spend 10 Billion on "regime change wars" There is another 500 Billion/year ..but in 2000 dollars .. could have spend on infrastructure - technology - ramping up economy to compete in third millennium ..

Instead down the toilet to pad pockets of the Oligopolies who control Washington .. and our Foreign policy.

    3) Environment - While Red's plan was - no plan - Blue is even worse .. Biden's "Not in my back Yard - Dump in the Ocean" enviro policy not only incentivizes and finances the continued increase in CO2 -- but destroys the Ocean at a faster rate.

Whats not to love and there are a whole lot more items on my list.

I just don't think we are at the point where we need the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. This seems to be a panic move on the Biden Administration for political reasons only.

    Biden:
    Cancels pipelines
    Shuts down more pipelines
    Stops all new drilling leases
Then claims increased gas prices isn't his fault?

Are the dems really stupid enough to believe him?

Can't discuss my arguments, so you have to deflect to the country of my birth. Typical....

This is probably a waste of time, but let's try this:

    1) Germany has half of the per capita energy use than the US.
    2) Germany produces 46% of its energy through renewables, the US: 15%.

So, I'd say that Germany is lightyears ahead of the US when it comes to good energy policy and pathway to self sufficiency. It is no surprise, though, because in Germany there are less regressives who like to live in the last century when it comes to energy sources, when compared to the US.

Yes, I was "overblaming" intentionally to make a point. Not sure if it went over well, but at the very least it inspired a well thought out post from you!
    Thanks!
We complain vehemently about the politicians, but ultimately WE the voters are responsible. Partisan politics are not good for our country, as it usually serves to divide us, which is probably the worst problem, and hinders good leaders from being elected and getting things done efficiently.
I think we agree on a lot of things, just as most Americans probably agree on many things.

Germany isn't light years ahead of ****, except for screwing other countries in the EU and screwing US taxpayers....after all...we pay for Germany's defense. We paid to rebuild Germany damn near twice too after both World Wars Germany started.

So Germany has the luxury of spending money on healthcare and what not...that we don't.

But Germany has 2 big ass pipelines, Nordstream 1 & 2, coming straight from St. Petersburg Russia into Germany. Those pipelines aren't full of unicorn farts.....just O&G.

I personally hope Germany keeps up with trying to impose sanctions on Belarus and sides with those committing genocide in Ukraine. Then Russia will show you just how many light years you are ahead when they shut in their pipelines.

No they aren't. No where in the quoted text did that bias expert say anything about rising prices at the pump we are currently facing.
And of course Biden is bias, are you dense? That's why I try and find non-bias sources. Something I'd suggest for anyone interested in effective arguments over silly political gotcha's and loose logic.

We the voters depend on a rigged system and can only change the situation voting on people chosen by that rigged system. We have had one political outsider elected President in my lifetime and the system swallowed him whole. Truth is we're screwed.

Did you notice the bullshit meter when the parrot never really mentioned what the 50 million was even going to accomplish? The DNC are making democrats look mindless, who in their right mind is going to think 50 million barrel of petroleum is going to make any sort of difference in a country that uses 20 million a day :)

Do forget the moron explaining how the OIL PRODUCING COUNTRIES can't keep up with demands. Clearly this retard is unaware the U.S. in 2019 was the #1 in the world production

Divided we fall -- this partisanship takes away all power and control of the citizen. Matters now whether one votes Red or Blue .. voting a bunch of corrupt establishment wonks back into power won't change a thing.

The people have become politically ignorant .. 12 years of school and we manage not to teach the founding principle .. nor the basics of Philosophy - logic, logical fallacy, what constitutes a valid argument. There is no such thing as a functional democratic process without fair and free media and educated (in specific things) populus.

As per previous post -- can we not agree that 3.5 Trillion - when Total Fed Revenue is 3.6 Trillion -is an insane amount to pay for Healthcare .. when other nations are paying half for equivalent care.

Yup we went from the largest producer and a net exporter, thereby achieving true energy independence...to emptying our strategic reserve which won't drop prices, and Brandon is sending most of it to China and India.

The people who voted for this are quite special and respond with orange man bad.
