Black Americans shot dead by police are twice as likely to be unarmed as whites

This information certainly supports the concept of an intrinsic and implicit bias by police against blacks.

The question is whether this bias is embedded in the police training systems by documentation or by trainer bias.

Irrespective of the causes the bias needs to be addressed and removed.

Maybe the police just have common sense and see in the world around them that blacks are infinitely more violent than whites. But of course that would never occur to you.

 

Black people are most likely to be killed by black people. Ignoring them while wailing black lives matter is hypocrisy

....and over 90% of those shot did have a weapon on them. A weapon, however, is not the only thing that justifies the use of lethal force. There is a much stronger demonstrated bias by the police against the mentally ill, especially those whose illnesses are untreated, though I am sure there is a healthy overlap among those cases and the alleged race bias.

 

They are also several times more likely to try to kill the police than whites. Which destroys the OP theory.

Perhaps if black people weren't so bias against the police to the point of violence this wouldn't happen.

These purposefully misinterpreted statistics also do not account for failure to comply situations where a black person reaches into vehicles or pockets and pulls out items that can be seen by a police officer as a possible gun, all while in the commission of violent crimes...which they are also several times more likely to commit than whites. Surprise surprise.

 

Why do you assume it’s specifically a police problem (let alone a police training problem)? It’s not as if this is the only example of possible racism or more generally bias and division in society. Maybe this desire to shift the blame on to another group we’re conveniently not in (in this case police officers and specifically police trainers) is actually a symptom of the problem. Maybe we need to recognise this as not being “their” problem but as being “ours”.

 

So it makes it ok if the cop is black.

Here's the thing. WHEN blacks are killed by black criminals, (on those occasions where the police put down the donuts and actually do investigations) they are arrested, prosecuted and imprisoned.

When a cop kills a black person, more often than not, a whole apparatus going into motion to either cover it up or excuse it, as we've seen with LaQuan McDonald, Tamir Rice, Michael Brown and a host of others.

The no-neck loser who shot LaQuan McDonald 16 times when he was lying on the ground might finally get put on trial some time in 2018. For a shooting that happened in 2014, was caught on tape, and covered up for two years.

How is this "Justified" again?

 

Its real simple if you dont want to be shot by police then follow 2 simple rules..

1) dont be a criminal
2) dont fight with police

there is a direct relation to criminal behavior and the lack of a father in there sons lives. And the % of fathers not being involved in there kids lives are much much higher in the Black community.
