Imo Pan-African studies is not a worthless field. But it may be a limited field with few opportunities away from academia. As to how objective the field is, you'd have to be in it or studying it to know.

I guess if you count and there's more whites than blacks & Hispanics at the cash registers, or if it's a mom & pop who are both Caucasian, then it's a "white" business.

To the blacks (or any other group) that wants to separate itself from mainstream American society: build a fleet of boats and sail back to whence you came.

 

If they could have left out the hate and the anti-white and anti-Trump rhetoric and just stuck with "support black-owned businesses", I wouldn't have a problem with that. But that's the problem with the BLM -- they can't separate themselves from the hate and the anti-white rhetoric because that's the driving force behind them.

BLM is simply the flip side of the KKK coin.

As an aside.... there's a town here in Florida which hosts a "Black College Reunion" every year. I can remember the hoopla and uproar when shops began closing for Black College Reunion week because of the theft and damages they were incurring this particular week each year. I wonder how that would fit into this BLM don't-shop-at-white-businesses narrative......

 

It reminded me of their previous "a Day without immigrants" idiotic protest less than a year ago. Morons lost wages and jobs and no one even noticed their absence LOL Well, stupid people never learn, not even from their own mistakes.

 

Most of us are born in America so....that's not gonna happen.

I'm always fascinated by the sheer number of threads dedicated solely to complaining about what black people do with their time and money and why they're bad because it doesn't involve you guys.

"Black people" dragged "white people" into this when they decided to start a movement with a stated goal of fighting "white capitalism". WTF is "white capitalism" anyhow? Is it capitalism that's evil? Or only white capitalism? Is black capitalism okay? What about Hispanic or Asian capitalism?

It's also ironic when you think about it, these BLM race-baiters are driving around in cars (not invented by blacks), bitching on the internet (not invented by blacks), from their cell phones (also not invented by blacks), using infrastructure and resources largely paid for with taxes from white people (thanks "white capitalism"), but hey, it's all "hate whitey!!"

The BLM is its own worst enemy.

I already addressed that earlier when I wrote:

Leave the "hate whitey" sentiment out of it and let their message and movement stand on its own. BLM acts as if the only way to be pro-black is to be anti-white, and I disagree with that message.

 

In theory yes it is. But when you tack on the rest of the bs they posted along with it, it turns into a hate white business and Donald trump thing as well. It’s both. Leave out the hatred and racism and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

If you do ignore the "stop buying from white" sentiment, then yeah fair point. Nothing wrong with it as a whole.

 

Again, fair enough. I do it frequently, not out of divesting from white people but rather because I get some cool items in general for a reasonable price.

I think it's a great idea and they should do this year round. Let's see how it works out for them. Meanwhile, white people should boycott all black owned businesses. Let's see who ends up on the better end.
