Yes, there are going to be more cases like this.

China intends to enter the auto markets in every country.

With the US, what we're seeing is Chinese companies building EVs in Mexico to take advantage of the Free Trade Agreement.

Point source problems are easier to mitigate and to carefully site.

ICE vehicles emit their chemistry on city streets.

Plus, ICE vehicles are significantly less efficient at turning fossil fuel into energy.

Amazon and others are moving to electric. Long haul tends to be centered on distribution centers.

so do electric vehicles. It's just that you can't see it so it's invisible to you.

Again we all share the same atmosphere.

This is why crippling ourselves with some standard electric cars is stupid. Other parts of the world they're polluting like it's the industrial era.
how does the crap that they sell to you for extortion prices get from China because that's predominantly where it's made?

It's not an electric freight carrier that runs on Bunker oil.

So the 0003% of good that Amazon does whether it's stupid little electric delivery trucks is outweighed by the 60% of bad they do causing more important ships to bring you more crap that you'll throw away in a year from China.

Amazon is probably one of the single most detrimental things to the environment in American culture.

So while we they bought expensive useless vehicles that will wind up in a dump in 5 to 10 years but it's all about that tailpipe exhaust that's the only pollution that exists those cargo ships no the trucks that deliver it to the distribution centers no just those tailpipes I see that's that's it.

This is the problem with environmentalism it's like Evangelical Christianity. It's the appearance of doing good without doing any good.

And you're just dazzled to buy it because you're in the religion.

For you to mention Amazon in the same post as environmentally friendly is profound illiteracy on the subject.

Again, irrelevant. CO2 is not a pollutant either.

The 3 actual regulated pollutants in a gasoline engine are NOx, unburned hydrocarbons (HC), and CO.

And again, you can find out the hard regulated limits of all 3 on the EPA website. From there you should be able to calculate how much is "spewed" by modern automobiles.

    Good luck.

In the US and around the world, fossil fuel is a decreasing percent of production of electricity.

OECD nations (including the US) are reducing coal consumption, with coal being an important problem.

There is nothing similar to that for burning fossil fuel on our city streets. Emission standards are not closing any gap.

Let's remember that the issue here is road transportation.

This is NOT about ending home delivery. People WANT home delivery. If you want to try to stop that, GOOD LUCK!

This is not about ending world trade. In fact, we get our clean energy products from China, as they lead in patents, manufacturing, export and installation.

You were the one that brought it up. Now you say its irrelevant.

?? I sent that to you - in terms of dollars.

To me it's the return of ancient paganism. Just like the Mayans who would go out and kidnap a child, drag him to the top of the pyramid, and while all the priest assistants held the child down while the high priest carved out the child's still beating heart and gave it to the "warrior" that captured the boy. Then the boy's body would be tossed off the side of the pyramid where it could then be eaten by wild animals.

And if nothing bad happened, it was because of the sacrifice. If something bad happened, it was obvious that they needed to do it again to reinforce the first time.

Pretty much a perfect parallel to "climate change".

I'm trying to get you to quantify your use of "spew". That's not measured in dollars.

So far you're just using the standard progressive tactics of obfuscation that progressives always fall back on to conceal how nonsensical their claims are.

    You're falling behind.

If it cost society nothing, then there would be no (or at least less) reason to worry about it.

Let's say that 100 of something came out of tailpipes. What is the next step?

Olivia increase demand drastically like you would have to to charge a bunch of electric cars that will no longer be the case unless you just love rolling blackouts. Which is a problem that exists from time to time even at our current state of power production.
only because they found natural gas and a way too cheaply extract it called fracking.

That's right the answer to call was petrochemical. And it's the single greatest green contribution humanity has made in existence.
It doesn't matter the emissions come out of the tailpipe of your car or the tailpipe of the power plant.

It all goes into the same atmosphere.

Unless you've created some sort of magical barrier that protects cities from the atmosphere it doesn't make a lick of difference.

so it's okay to pollute the atmosphere the same amount just as long as you don't see it on the road? The toxic fumes you breathe in are less toxic if you don't see them

this is the world's dumbest comment. It doesn't matter if a delivery driver delivers something to your house or you go pick it up it still gets delivered to your house it doesn't just magically appear there.
Right producing green products does more pollution than just using fossil fuels because you're using China the land of half measures and facades.

So it's not about the environment or ecology at all in any way shape or form it's about the appearance thereof. You wish to pretend or look like you're doing something so how is it different than Christianity

Explain to me why I should adopt this new psychopathic self-centered religion focused strictly on facades?

If it were to cost society it must be superior and it isn't all it is is so you can play pretend you can pretend to be an earth crusader and actually at the same time do more damage to it.

This religion is profoundly stupid Christianity is much better

What I was getting at it it was built strictly on hypocrisy and a lot of the prominent figures within Christianity are exactly that.

I didn't mean to attack Christianity just people like Peter popoff or Jerry Falwell actually I'd say they're a little more honest than the climate scammers but that's not saying much

Correct. That's why economists are such a big part of the climate change fraud. If they can't argue actual numbers they get economists to make up real scary numbers that don't correlate to any kind of objective reality.

The government does it all the time. There's a rule in the Federal government called "pay/go", implemented years ago to try to stop gratuitous spending. It says that if an agency wants to implement a new rule, they have to "prove" that it will pay for itself with its implementation. So, if a rule to ban X will cost taxpayers Y dollars, the rule should save consumers Y+Z dollars in every day usage. A blindingly inane concept, but it is the Federal government and as long as they personally are expanding their authority and clout, it's going to get done.

So what started to happen is the Beltway Bandits (originally the Big 5 Accounting firms) started to make bank producing economic analysis showing how much money people are really saving while their taxes go up.

I actually was charged with contracting one of those analysis forb a rule change we wanted to implement when I worked for the Federal government in 2009. It cost our agency $1.7 million. The end result was that the rule was projected to save 300 lives and $7 billion in 2030. Pretty precise work given that a) roughly 3 million people in this country already die every year, and b) there's no indication whose pocket the $7 billion was coming out of or whose pocket it was going into.

So, the discussion should start with verifiable objective reality. And if it costs society nothing, so be it.

Volvo was smart to partner with the Chinese, who along with Tesla are dominating the EV playing field. Those two cars you mentioned - I remember a time when people called those "Japanese garbage".

Hmmm - climate science is now a religion??? Sheesh, ain't that something. I just finished a book by a Christian Climate Scientist. She drew some interesting Biblical references as to why we need to take action to prevent AGW. One important point that she made is that most of the regions negatively affected by the warming are poorer regions, and that it is inevitable that there will be a massive number of refugees from these areas. The bible calls on Christians to take care of those in need.

I just sent some money to the Palestinian Red Cross. A day later I saw all the problems in Sudan from their Civil War. I haven't sent money to them yet, but I feel obligated by my Christian duty.

There was a time when Japanese cars were garbage. Post WWII When you started seeing them imported that's when they were getting better.

China has a problem with their EVs lighting on fire and the also have a problem keeping the manufacturers there.

Tesla already has build quality issues, they are garbage cars especially for that price point. Slopping them together with the only country currently doing a genocide means they are just going to get ripped off. That's what China does.

No not the science. The wackadoodle ideology.
Yeah I remember hearing all about the impending catastrophe that was just a couple years away like 30 years ago.

It can't possibly be this person wanted to sell a book no all those other doomsdays were wing but not this time

    Lol
I thought this was about electric cars. Did you put off buying one so you could help poor people in our country?

There have been plenty of catastrophes. Although most analysts don't draw direct correlations to AGW, the trends are becoming more and more undeniable. In my area (the Mountain West), we are experiencing more and more wildfires, and they are becoming much more severe and often uncontrollable for longer periods of time. Only the very staunch denialists are ignoring the correlation nowadays. Other areas - more extremes hurricanes, floods, glacier disappearance, monsoons, etc. Alaska and the Arctic are getting hit extremely hard with much higher average temperatures.

All that said, we are in the early stages of climate change.

No we're in the extreme late stages of it we've been warming up from the ice age for 25,000 years. And it viciously swung back and forth by greater number of degrees then it's changing now even before that.

We can't be in the early stages of climate change because it's been happening since there was a climate long before a man ever got here.

Global temperatures have been way hotter than they are now and life persisted. In fact during those times it flourished.

The weird doomsday cult stuff is absurd.

I could post a video that explains why it's fake but I don't think you would accept it.

But they didn't go back 500,000 years to see if there was a quick fluctuation in temperature.

So the idea that it never has happened this fast is something sometime just pulled directly out of their ass.
