So, a madman gets a gun in Germany, but he's only able to fire blanks and the police kill him before he kills anyone?

And then you say that having good gun laws is ineffective?

And that brings us to murder. As I have noted several times, Germany follows the common European practice of ignoring many of the murders involving Roma and other minorities, reducing the reported murder rate by one third or more.

The FBI tabulated a total of 12,664 murders for a rate of 4.1 per 100,000 population.

The BKA reported a total of 2,218 murders, equivalent to 8,628 US murders, for a reported rate of 2.8 per 100,000 population. While this official total is nominally one third lower than the US, the actual rate is substantially higher than the US rate.

And yes I lived in Germany for five years so don't go there. They have more crime because alcohol is so much more in use than in the US. Cops frequently assault people for drunk and disorderly...But I do like being able to pay for a traffic ticket on the spot.

There were 55% more casualties per capita from mass public shootings in EU than US from 2009-15

    Compare and learn folks.

    I live in Germany.
Haven't read every comment here. As almost always on this board, when yankee folks discuss things that happened thousands of miles away from their home, the amount of completely incorrect and almost laughable nonsense is just breathtaking; even if some apparently lived in Germany for a few years and seem to consider themselves experts (much higher crime rate? Yeah, right).
    The situation is/was:
The guy was a 19 year old German, no islamic terrorist, IS fighter disguised as a refugee, etc.
He carried two alarm guns and fake hand grenades.
    No one was injured.
Police shot him when they entered the building.
    German language skills needed.

Happy speculating and a nice Sunday.

Nope... I quoted the thing that it's about the EU, while the numbers arent about the EU, since Russia and I dunno what is part of them numbers. Do note.... Europe has over 700 million people. Way more than twice as many than the US. So if you wish to compare than you have to slice the European numbers by 45% at least to make a just comparison.

Wow, did Germany bury this story. A person of no motivation, no name and no ethnicity other than "German" went into a theater with weapons with 50 people not injured. End of story, nothing else.
