Actually, we don't know anything about the nature of the crime. Since they went with the Second-degree, and not a first-degree murder charge. It's possible that what some reports said were true, that they don't believe malicious intent was involved. But could they have possibly simply charged manslaughter given the circumstances?

No, so what I'm thinking is they're probably hoping to 'sentence down', at some point a few months from now when everyone has forgotten this. I have already said that the statues of Traitors such as Roberto E. Lee should be ignored. I would plant fast growing tres around the stops were traitor statues exist and eventually they will be obscured. Of some places were the tritor's statues exist it will ge difficult or impossible to block from view.
