    In the context of just and sufficient access to *necessary* resources, (which btw is perfectly achievable, see MMT) - who cares if "ponies would be 'worthless' "???

    Kelton is saying that renewable resources, eg education, can be funded by a treasury authorising the creation of said funding in a (national) central bank account, rather than drawing on private sector savings (via taxation). Good news, eh?
    (I think I heard some 'balanced budget fetishists' on the radio today, concerned with the burgeoning US deficit. MMT will cut Trump some slack in this regard....currency issuing governments can never run out of money, unlike private-sector players, who must repay debt by the due date).

    The simple fact that recessions occur despite there being no actual reduction in real resources, namely, materials, technology, know and labour at the commencement of said recessions, proves the current neoliberal orthodoxy is inadequate as a basis for running a modern fiat economy.
