    Wasn’t Stan poisoned to death at a meeting with a mysterious investor at a Cracker Barrel restaurant? At this point, People in the fossil fuel business have unlimited power throughout the world. Any technology which threatens to make it obsolete will face heavy challenges.

    Yeah. It's a nice daydream, but, unfortunately it takes more energy to separate the hydrogen from the oxygen than is produced. There is no free lunch. Maybe one day!

    Sorry, but no. Steam is still water. It will not burn like hydrogen in an oxygen environment. I think that going for something like a gas would be better. Like man made CH4. Or a solid like cellulose. I don't think the system in the OP could power an ant.

    So, the article says:
    Sales of technology include contract clauses that identify conditions that must be demonstrated by the technology. Those who invest billions are not stupid.

    Nobody is going to get a billion dollars for a perpetual motion machine, because ... physics.
