As long as the authoritarian government has passed a law saying you have to either secure your guns under 3 feet of concrete or turn them in, you'll comply, right? If that same government passes a 70% tax, you'll comply, right? If that same government passes a law limiting you to a single child, you'll comply, right?

As long as it's "lawful", we must obey, right? Good thing those brave pioneers in Boston didn't just follow the law after the Stamp Act. If not, you'd be singing "God Save the Queen".

I believe in civil disobedience. I have partaken of it. Disobeying unlawful orders, however, is IMO a civic duty. Complying with reasonable lawful orders is as well.

 

Agreed. OTOH. Although I've only been stopped about half a dozen times in my life, I've never had a police officer ask for the ID of a passenger.

 

I do have an issue with this and the police thread is replete with people advocating complete adherence to law enforcement regardless of how reasonable or unreasonable the request. In particular is the ID issue which is now in vogue on the Right to ID everyone. They don't seem to realize they've moved so far Right, they are now closer to the far Left.

The difference between the police thread(s) and the Bundy threads should be clear to everyone.

 

This thread and others completely highlights how screwed we really are when it comes to the gubbamint stealing our land, invading our homes and killing our citizens.

How many of you liberals dismiss Waco and support the gubbamint massacre there?

How many of you conservatives dismiss Occupy and support the police brutality there?

Both sides of this coin politicize the eradication of our rights. SHAME on both of you. This trampling of liberty is politicized. On one hand we have idiots like Maddow raging about Occupy police brutality, but supporting the Waco raids. On the other, we have idiots like Limpballs supporting brutality against Occupy, but decrying Waco.

Agreed that both Left and Right are strongly authoritarian and support the suppression and oppression of those with whom they disagree while complaining about those same actions against those with whom they do agree. This isn't working.

It's the same here. I don't believe the government should be able to own any land, since they've proven they can't be trusted to treat it accordingly. In fact, they make themselves rich by "insider trading" on government information. Military base going there? Quick, buy the land since the gubbamint will pay top dollar for it and it'll make you rich!

The Bundy thing is just another example of the government stealing private property and refusing its return. Sure, he broke the law by allowing cattle to graze - so what? The government will do anything to leach every red cent from the population.

Get together and stop polarizing this - the lesson is clear - and no one here can deny it - every event where our rights are trampled, the right and left pick a side that fits their agenda instead of standing unified against the crooks and thieves and their jackbooted private military, and say NO MORE.
