Think again! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dk3J32FQbM"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dk3J32FQbM[/ame] Gold is money, silver is money. Paper is not. End the Federal reserve. End Fractional Banking. End the Wars. Elect Ron Paul.
The media only wants to show you the dummies and the marxists. It's all by design. Most of them are leftier versions of this guy.
I saw this video earlier. To be fair, this guy is the only coherent protester I've seen thus far. Having said that, if this is representative of where these people are, then they need to align with the TEA Party. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLdcB0ln9t8"]Nader, Ron Paul, Kucinich Speak to Occupy Wall Street - Original - YouTube[/ame] There are details we disagree on, but we are in unison on the most important issue. Get Paul in and get Obama out. If we can work together on that, we will win. If not , then we will lose.
It's dumb to want more regulation and a larger federal goverment without free markets. Yes, that is dumb.
They already have free markets. They're free to make trillions of dollars of gambling bets out of thin air and then get trillions of bailouts after their bogus scams destroyed our economy, and hardly pay any taxes to boot. They have more rights and freedoms than anyone else in the world.
There are a few Nationalist Conservative Republicans slummin back there (Only because they think they can get laid easier hangin with the leftist chicks)
Ok, so we agree on some peripheral issues, disagree on just about everything else, and if we vote for your man, we'll lose any shred of remaining power or influence in the political system. Why, again, should progressives support your side?
Do you want to end the wars, audit the federal reserve, get the corporations out of politics, or do you want to scratch your ass and whine about whether or not Social Security is constitutional and if the states should decide on abortion and other civil liberties issues? (*)(*)(*)(*) or get off the pot.
If I see more people with messages similar to this guy's then I can probably get behind this movement. Unfortunately, this guy seems to be the exception to the rule so far. The rubes that Kokesh interviewed the other day have soured my taste for these protests to this point, but I'll reserve judgement until I see the overall message and goals that arise to replace the confusing and disjointed mess that it appears to be right now.
If by "free-markets" you mean federal reserve fixing interest rates and the money supply, the US goverment setting the price of mail services, spending tax payer money on subsidies, and bailouts....yeah, those "free-markets."
Well unfortunately, most of America simply doesn't trust a completely "free market" and want Capitalism tamed a bit. Some minimal statism is necessary for the protection of the public against the negative externalities of capitalism. To say that it isn't is simply naive, and that is the task of the Fed in the end.
Well I'll have to disagree. The Constitution is a bare outline, not a comprehensive set of rules that we can refer to when specific situations come to light.
It's easy to isolate and attack any one person or group, aiming to distort facts towards other agendas, and this occupywallstreet.org group will need to keep it's message free of the hijackers and free of violence. But this could be the revolution starting, finally. Wall Street is a symbol of what's wrong, and being an actual street, it's easily accessable by the public protected by rights. This is a rare achilles heel for the greedy, and they are quite possibly going down from it, thanx in large part by the aggressive stupity of some NYPD Captains that drew media attention.
I would appreciate it if the OccupyWallStreet hooligans didn't complain about capitalism while sipping their Starbucks latte
Revolution against WHAT? Capitalism itself? What do you want? Socialism, Social Democracy, Communism? I mean, if you want to live in a Free and Capitalist State there are certain risks involved and for every risk we mitigate or eliminate requires the death of a piece of freedom. What is it you want? Free loans? Interest free loans? Fee-less banking? What is it exactly that Wall Street is doing that you want to punish it for? There is no law against "melting down the economy" and nothing we can punish these people for. So what is it exactly that you expect to happen in this "revolution" you want so badly??? I mean what do you want to go back to FDR and 91% tax rates on the rich? Fine, but the bottom marginal rate was 22%. So in order to remain somewhat egalitarian towards taxation, we cannot be taxing one person at 90% and everyone else at 10%. It just doesn't work that way!
We agree on almost all issues, with the exception of out-of-control government. Lefties seem to like that for some reason. The other things we disagree on simply aren't a priority on our side. The reason progressives should join our side is because we actually have solutions. And cookies. Don't forget the cookies... Your list of complaints is pretty much identical to ours. Difference is, we're actually trying to fix it. /did I mention the cookies?
But I thought all the Wall Street Protestors were socialist liberals? Because that is what Faux news implied??
