    I just bought one of my students an Anderson AR 15 for her 19th birthday and I have another student turning 18 soon, will give her whatever she wants from the local shop. The one who got the Anderson (made less than an hour away from were I live in SW Ohio) was actually the cheapest of the three she liked the best.

    1) You have no way to be sure there aren't liberals buying them. I mean sure: people on the right are getting them but it's also likely you got lots gang-bangers or drug lords - who'd likely lean left - gettin' 'em by the bushel. Maybe more there. You can't prove it anymore than I can.

    2) It wasn't my overall point anyway. This isn't a RW or LW thing, it's a human being thing. It really doesn't matter WHAT it is, tell people they can't have it and they'll want it. You can find examples of people on all sides - or no side - of whatever political side you want doing this going back as far as history itself - I mean, I used an example from Genesis, and humanity hasn't evolved much since then. "Nope, Adam - Eve - can't eat from those two trees there, sorry," "Oh BOY!"

    Take away guns, people will kill with knives. Or cars. Or Poison. Or whatever they find useful. Seems like a good analogy to me.

    Someone said upthread ( more or less) that the reason people kill is because of what's in their hearts. That's what needs to be worked on.

    Yeah, but we were talking about hearing protection and suppressors and shooting thousands of round a week (really?) I'm sure you were wearing ear protection. Bad point.
