That incident was covered by local news. I am sure this will be investigated by state officials. I’m not sure what the driver was supposed to do in the case of his rig being on fire. Pretty tough situation in any case. I did not read or hear anything about whether or not the driver was Mexican. He must have had documentation if he was driving for that company. Anyway, what difference does it make what his nationality was. If he intentionally set his load on fire, and dumped it in a brush fire area, he should be charged with arson weather he is Mexican or Swedish. If it was an accident then perhaps these trucks should be retrofitted with some sort of fire extinguisher to prevent future incidents. Looks like a freak accident to me.

Cattle ranchers have been at war with the BLM as long as I have been alive. I myself have had a good experience with BLM Rangers for the past fifty years out in the Mojave. But under Obama BLM Rangers started carrying M-16's, M-4 carbines and wearing black uniforms with kevlar vest and helmets. In fact under Obama every executive branch of the federal government has become militarized and has its own SWAT team including the Department of Education, Department of Agriculture and the Department of Health and Human Services BLM land is the people's land, the open range that belongs to the American people. The federal government BLM is just suppose to manage the land. On BLM land an America is supposed to be able set up camp and hunt and fish on the land but the catch is, you can't become a squatter. There aren't supposed to be any fees charged to use the land. It was the open range. The Bundy incident was all about that the Obama administration wanted to kick Bundy's cattle off of BLM land and use an executive order turning public land into a national monuments that restricts access to once public lands and up goes fences, locked gates, closed areas, regulations and restrictions and having to pay a fee to go on the national monument.

Meanwhile they were paving the way to build all those crackerbox houses out in the valley, Santa Clarita and Simi. They were happy to let all the areas near downtown and the West Side go to hell. There were more than a few people who were begging with the garbage truck driver not to dump the burning trash along the road where he did pointing out that the wind was blowing around 40 MPH in the direction of a trailer park. They begged that he move the truck to a safer place to dump the trash that was in fire. No comprende I supposed. Maybe the garbage truck driver didn't understand English ? Most garbage truck drivers I have ever talked to in California have a problem with understanding English. There was a time all commercial truck drivers in America had to be able to read and speak English and understand English. I grew up, went to school, played sports, surfed and partnered in several business with Mexican people for most of my life. I have found them to be great people of intelligence, courage, character and heart. If the GOP ever wants to find out why they can’t win anymore in California they should read posts from people like you and it would become clear what their rhetoric has created.

I know who the Pachucos were, and I have known many cholos too. I like both Mexican Americans and Mexicans. I played baseball down in Rosarito and La Mesion when I was young. The people down there treated me like family when I was there. I know people who have family in San Fernando from Tiajuana, Rosarito and other parts of Baja and Sonora who have been coming back and forth for generations. My dentist is in Rosarito Beach and lets me stay at his condo when I go there. He teaches at a Dental school San Diego. I love to surf in Baja and know a lot of great Mexican surfers. I don’t like it when people make snotty racist comments about these people as many of them are like family to me. Mothers of my grade school friends have treated me as family since I was a kid and my family treated them the same. I do not like being around racist Mexican haters, never did and kicked the crap out of a bunch of them when I was younger.
