That who can win over the majority is a big question. America is a big platform and the world is watching curiously the candidates staging their different parts. Hilary, Bernie, Ted, Trump. All are not iconic figures and cannot represent America, yet one has to choose somebody from comparatively less crooked. America is a big economy and a big territorial republic of states with a multicultural and multiracial system. It needs a leader who can integrate different races, cultures, ethnic groups, religions in an amicable way. Obama has some features indeed. He is passionate, dynamic and of course dashing. I doubt Bernie or Hillary can replace him. Ted and Trump cannot win since their political philosophies are not fitting in today’ s context. Their conservatism, their promises for the few deserting the majority cannot get them the votes.
America needs a leader who can address and arrive at a variety of problems at the same time. One burning issue is ISIS and another is the environmental issue. There are other issues migrants, racisms, unemployment and nuclear threats, armaments etc. North Korea ‘ s rocket launch etc.
America needs a character and someone with Americans lionize , but there are crises and hardly they can find a leader they really, full-heartedly choose.
American presidents are powerful enough to ruin or trigger progress. For example presidents who failed In Vietnam and Iraq may come repeatedly since they are given so much power that in their tenor they can do anything unchecked
In this situation how can you choose a president from the ones who do not in actuality qualify for presidency?

Republicans took the senate so apparently America does not hate them as much as you think they do. No reason people will not pick one for president.

Not in current political parties they can't. All candidates are bought and paid for. Elect An independent ,poor man with no interest in luxury will be the only way to see some honesty in politics.

I have to say I agree with my friend who said we should just put everyone's name in a hat and pick our representatives at random. Yeah you'd get psychopaths (we already do), socialist, capitalists, maybe even a CEO, who knows, but it would be a big random sampling of people who are not career politicians. I can only see that helping.

Speaking of career politicians I've never understood why people will say "oh that person doesn't have enough experience", as if being a politician is a good thing. I'd rather someone who is going to do what they think is right than have someone who is going to lie and manipulate in order to get elected next term.
