No, you "wait a minute." I'm not "conflating" anything. (Do you know what that word means?)

I'm speculating that that's what the USA will become after we have finished the current process of disintegration. I hope I'm wrong.

Anyway the OP invites you to make your own prediction, if you have one.

But your OP said you disliked the fracturing of the US into smaller pieces and saw it as a reason for its weakening.
    You are still contradicting yourself.

I can assure you the EU is a strongly united group of democratic countries working together as close allies.
Y9u might want to copy some of what it is. It is most CERTAINLY not disintegrating.

I didn't say such a thing. What I said is that human nature shows that people prefer being around their own kind. Diversity is a negative element in society. But we already have diversity so we need respect and work with each other. If what I said goes beyond that, I didn't intend. I don't want to fracture anything.

My apologies. It was said in another thread.

I very much support the notion of "respect" but fear ego makes that a tall order. Ego demands domination, not respect, which is too often seen as weakness.

Just to be clear, the French revolution was before the UK industrial revolution, so the UK's technology was not any more advanced than anyone else's.

    Description

The eighteenth century, age of France’s leadership in Western civilization, was also the most flourishing period of French inventive genius. Generally obscured by England’s great industrial development are the contributions France made in the invention of the balloon, paper-making machines, the steamboat, the semaphore telegraph, gas illumination, the silk loom, the threshing machine, the fountain pen, and even the common graphite pencil. Shelby T. McCloy believes that these and many other inventions which have greatly influenced technological progress made prerevolutionary France the rival, if not the leader, of England.

In his book McCloy analyzes the factors that led to France’s inventive activity in the eighteenth century. He also advances reasons for France’s failure to profit from her inventive prowess at a time when England’s inventions were being put to immediate and practical use.

What?? How are you not understanding that my position is that it is the USA, not the EU, which is disintegrating?

And by disintegrating, I don't mean devolving into anarchy; I merely mean a coming apart of the American federation

One more mischaracteization like that and I'll have to assume you are a troll.

    You didn't write this then?

So what will we look like? I foresee an ever-feuding, loosely organized and toothless EU, or something like that. Belgians have nothing in common with the Spanish and don't pretend to. New York will shrug at the problems of Texas, and vice versa. Few modern countries have had as long a run under one constitution as we have, so ... fun while it lasted!

Or is that falsely attributing posts to as well?

The EU is not and never was ever feuding, loosely organised and toothless. It bears NO comparison with anything like that.
    Nor is it anarchical.
If the USA becomes as you describe, it will not reflect any aspect of the EU.

Brexit indeed pulled the EU closer together. The UK has always been on the awkward edge of the EU.
An important reason the UK got such a bad deal was because it couldn't separate the bloc into individual targets but had to deal with a united front.

I think the fact that they chose to leave regardless of a "bad deal" makes me question your EU claims.

Please don't start on brexit. I have been discussing it for five years and read a great deal from all sides. I really don't have the energy to explain it all to those who don't fully understand European issues and attitudes.
I am quite clear as to who the winners and losers are and why. Perhaps we could leave it at that?

Sure. Human nature is what it is. I saw a discussion on TV this morning about a study done by Johns Hopkins University medical school It concluded that lock downs had no measurable effect in responding to covid and that they should never be used again in the future. Will government apologize to the nation for the mess they caused with lock downs. Absolutely not. There is no larger ego than that of government.

We are finished unless we put America First. Not necessarily Trump, but someone with his ideas. They will hang us just like Khrushchev said if we give them the rope!

We have 50 states. Some learn from others. It is hopeful that some learn from the best! No centralized State! America was not designed that way except for some very vital areas. Heck, we don't even honor the sovereignty of our Southern border in the Federal sense. The States have to try and do that!

I have to disagree with you as the progressives have Joe Biden who has no spine and caves in far left demands almost at will and he also panders for their support

They do have Joe Biden but that isn't anything important except for aspects of political power. The next election will hamstring Biden and, hopefully, he will wait out his term quietly. I have never seen such incompetence in government than I see right now - any government anywhere in the world. It is scary but it will go away. The voters aren't terribly competent at choosing leaders but they aren't stupid either. They know when they messed up.

I have reason to believe that within five years we will all look back in awe at how......
Dr. Tony Fauci actually did do some jail time........
due to the proof coming out that he was involved in convincing Chinese researchers to create and unleash some very dangerous viruses!

Once Dr. Tony Fauci goes down.... . Bill Gates will soon be indicted.....
and will repent and his repentance on some levels will alter the world economy much like the repentance of Rav Shaul who became the Apostle Paul altered the formula in the first century.

I believe that P. M. Justin Trudeau is at this time shaking in his boots at where the trucker convoy could well lead!!!!

The amazing prediction from Mr. Mark Taylor back in April of 2011 is about to come to pass for America and for Israel.

I doubt he will be in jail.
But likely his time will be occupied with court cases all the way through 2024.

He's only useful to the GOP while he generates bribe donations.

Why do you doubt he'll be in jail? Because he committed no felonies? Or because he is rich?

If the latter, think about Martha Stewart, Bernie Madoff, and Michael Milliken, to name a few, whose money and layers could not save them from striped pajamas.

Is the only way he goes to prison is for a felony?
I say he won't go because he has many fall people in front of it.

Committing and proving are not the same.
