Dont know which liberal senator was just on the ABC but he was saying that the carbon tax will cost Australia one trillion dollars by 2050.

He said the labor model showed this and thats why labor will not allow a third party to scrutinise it.

He dared senator Wong to reveal labors modelling of the carbon tax.

He also said no other nation on Earth was prepared to have a carbon tax like Australias and that Gillard's model supposed that the whole world will be on a carbon tax by 2016.

He also said that the price of energy would rise by

    1. Households - 10%
    2. Business - 30%

    Within the first few years.

Now all you supporters out there giving away a trillion Australian tax payers dollars to overseas institutions (namely the UN, wall street and the bankers) over the next 39 years can surely still not be a good thing right?

Wouldn't that trillion dollars be better spent here in Australia??????

Especially when our carbon foot print is suppose to increase from 58 million tons to 62 million tons by 2020, again where is the reduction, FFS its going to increase and we are going to be penalised for it as well.

Gillard - labor and Bob - greens have sold all Australians into slavery and are all traitors.

So where is the benefit here?

I'ld love for some of you believers to try and justify this one.

    Bull(*)(*)(*)(*),
Australia has among the lowest prices for electricity, water and gas as well as petrol in the western world!
Just returned from Europe, people would lick your feet if they would have to pay as little as we do.
You want to take me on? Travel a bit, and broaden your horizon.
I say bring the carbon tax on, its long overdue for our nation of "can't be bothered at all".

    LOL

You state a good thing that Oz utilities are among the cheapest in the world, and then say "we need to be more like Europe and raise our utilities, just because..."

    Monkey See, Monkey do?

Why does everyone act like the (*)(*)(*)(*)ing trashy Euros are the height of the advancement of civilization or something and should be emulated? Any smart country will do the exact opposite.

Hey now that smart meters have been approved i dont think we'll be that cheap anymore.

But hell we are sheep and we deserve what we get with your attitude.

    Which goes something like this,

Australia's life style is so good we can afford to give everything that we have up.

OOps thats until one day you'll wake up and it wont be that good anymore, and you might ask yourself how did we get to here?

Thats rubbish and you know it, i say our standard of living is on the way down and fast just how far down is really up to us the people.

As long as we keep bending over and handing them the vasaline we're going to be shafted for everything.

So yeah enjoy it while it lasts.:omg:

The answer to the last bit is easy - because we have met and talked with Americans and compared to that ANYONE else is the height of civilisation :)twisted:you asked for it!!)

But why should we not pay for the pollution we are creating?

    LMAO

Please. You aren't paying for your pollution, you are being told that so you feel better about getting robbed.

The money isn't going to cleanup, because you can't "clean" carbon dioxide out of the air. What it is going towards is crony capitalism and globalized 3rd world socialist redistribution via the UN and its affiliated Non-Governmental Organizations.

You are being robbed so socialists can redistribute 1st world wealth to the 3rd world as a matter of ideological charity.

So in 40 years we will have paid a trillion dollars towards it. How much does that work out, on average, per person?
    Not a lot, I'd guess.

Why should we pay anyone to clean up our act, why not just spend the money here in Australia to retrofit the big polluters with the latest technology in clean pollution.

Why do we have to be tied to Europe can't we manage our own affairs?

The carbon tax / ETS system will not promote clean energy, like i have said before where is the clen energy going to come from? who will build these facilities?

It will be a scheme of trading carbon credits on the stock exchange and the only thing thats going to matter is the bottom line and the farming of carbon credits.

Once again we have been sold into financial slavery by Gillard and the Labor/Greens.
