More than 120 CEOs, business leaders, lawyers and experts came together Saturday afternoon to discuss further action against voting legislation nationwide, attendees on the call said.

The group discussed numerous options to push back against the Republican-led efforts to restrict access to the ballot box, including pulling their donations, refusing to move business or jobs to states that pass restrictive measures, and relocating events, said one of the call's organizers, Jeffrey Sonnenfeld.

"It was incredibly concrete," said Sonnenfeld, a professor at the Yale School of Management.

Repubs continue to inflict wounds on themselves. MLB, et al, has been blamed for politicizing the voter suppression issue. But they were just reacting to GA's politicization of voting.

Big business had to make a decision. Did they want to keep quiet or pick a side. It appears they're more concerned about keeping their liberal customers and not as concerned about keeping their trumpers.

I was just reading about this on another site. I think this was unavoidable. People aren't going to willingly sit by and watch their hard work go down the drain. They had to take a stand. Maybe we will get back to a time when politicians understand they work for, we, the people, and not the other way around.

I suppose it's naive to think these CEO's are taking steps to extract a cost to states who pass oppressive laws because it's the right thing to do. First and foremost it's a business decision, as it should be since CEO's are fiduciaries. In any event, it's good to see the push back like this..........The group discussed numerous options to push back against the Republican-led efforts to restrict access to the ballot box, including pulling their donations

CEO's would be wise to stay out of politics. For every stand you take you make enemies. Even a politician will sometimes vote "Present".

CEO's who don't want to keep all of the company's customers need to be fired.

Giving political donations is taking sides. Companies take sides against entities in the USA but they are fine with doing business with China, the world champion when it comes to denying human rights. Hypocritical morons.

You damn right. If you take my donations and then you do something that I strongly disagree with you're going to hear about it.

    You donate to corporate America?

I believe you may be the only American that does.

Well, if that makes you happy, you go with it.

    Peace

From my small niche perspective it appears younger executives are taking corporate core statements to heart and aligning their actions accordingly.

This could be an illustration of that personal observation.

“It’s just business” doesn’t cut it if your corporate action blows up your supposed core value statement.

It would be nice to believe (likely naive) that corporation are attempting to be more responsible or possibly younger executive view aligning to corporate core values is more profitable in the long run.

In that respect it wouldn’t be a matter of choosing sides but rather merely standing your ground.

Not likely. I, unlike you, am intelligent, educated and worldly.

More likely you screwed up. We all know this.
