A thinly-veiled ad hominem is not exactly a compelling argument - though I see the effort here was minimal anyway. I think we were talking about teenagers, not kids. And it's about what they want and understand, not what I want. There is an element of not locking people up who don't need to be, but personally I am fortunate enough to prefer women in their 20s and 30s anyway - well one exclusively unless something horrible happens. I'm also for the legalization of all recreational drugs but the only one I care to use is caffeine - rarely even drink. Are you going to call me a drug addict too because I am for the legalization of all drugs?

Most states have laws regarding the relative ages of the participants. Yes, I think it is wrong for an adult to take advantage of a child in this way. If the numbers are arbitrary, then so be it.

Bear in mind the post history of the O.P. He believes that if somebody breaks into your house to rob it, and is armed with a gun, and if you come downstairs with a weapon, and the burglar shoots you, he should not be charged with murder, because it is self-defense. To justify this twisted logic, he asks, 'How else is the burglar supposed to perform his job if not armed?".
The O.P. also believes that if you commit a series of crimes, you should only be charged with one. If you break into somebody's house, rob them, pistol whip, and rape their dog, you should only be charged with one of the crimes.

In other words, the O.P.'s moral and logical compass is in way too close proximity to a massive iron deposit to have any validity.

Teenagers ARE still children, like it or not. They are not yet fully matured and are, a lot of times, very immature and child like. This is something that most every parent knows. We want to protect our teens from adult predators. Most men who seek out teens have serious problems (usually social problems).

Boobies and pubic hair don't make one an adult.

If a man or woman goes after teens, I consider him or her to be a child molester.

All you have to do is think back to when you were 15 or so and see how much you've changed and grown since then.

Even the most mature teen is still not an adult. Of course every teenager THINKS they are mature. Even if they are mature in one area, that doesn't mean they are in all ways though. They are just big kids really.
