That's what Germany thought, right before both World Wars, and Japan too. Literally months later they were totally on the defensive and remained so until their unconditional surrenders and ended up sitting in the rubble of their own flattened cities, wondering what the hell happened. It's China that is the dependent in the relationship, not the U.S. The bulk of their cash reserves and bonds would instantly disappear, in literally seconds, if they started a war with us, just for starters; almost nobody would sell them anything, for another, assuming they had the opportunity to even try. I've been hearing about 'the imminent and abrupt collapse of Evil America', everybody is going to abandon the dollar and ruin our uppity asses ad nauseam my entire life, it seems, yet we're not only still here, foreign money is being parked here in massive amounts; it's worse and more uncertain economically everywhere else on the planet than here. Quit reading stupid fantasy blogs written by angry twits, and just go by the obvious.
Was that in reference to me and mush, as the only problem I had with his argument against mine was that it had nothing to do with my argument for which he asserted it countered!?
The Strategy Page reports that the Chinese finally got the aircraft carrier Liaoning (refurbed Russian rust bucket Varyag) out of the yards after being in since February. They say deficiencies have been addressed. One would hope. Sea time will continue to be curtailed as the Chinese are still short of Su-33 knock-offs and suitable escorts.
I don't really care since their budget is still only 1/7th that of the USA. What galls me though are that they are doing it with OUR money. But even that's okay. We got a lot of Romney-types who are trying to sell America off for parts.
Parting out a worn-out car is a valid strategy. America's businesses have been wrecked by government. The Chinese are buying it cheap, but what are they getting. Parts of a clapped out 1973 Gremlin?
Nonsense. I've been in business for myself for 30 years without a sign of the government meddling. Too bad a smart guy like Romney can't figure out a way to do business without turning a Mercedes into a sand buggy.
