In the space of a single sentence uttered Thursday, FBI Director Christopher Wray unwound months of wild conspiracy theories pushed by President Donald Trump and his allies about mail-in ballots in the 2020 election. "Now, we have not seen, historically, any kind of coordinated national voter fraud effort in a major election, whether it's by mail or otherwise," Wray said in response to a question about the safety of voting by mail, which millions of Americans are expected to do amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Wray was testifying in front of the Senate Homeland Security Committee. Under oath. Meaning that if he didn't tell the truth about his knowledge in regard to what he knew about the record of fraudulent voting by mail, he would be committing a crime. https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/25/politics/christopher-wray-election-fraud-vote-fraud/index.html ______________________________________ Don't count on Wray's statements to slow Trump in his intention to challenge the results of this election. Trump will lose and the election will not have been rigged. But as he has been doing for the past 4 years, he will do everything to undermine the institutions and retain power. He will leave as he has led: in disgrace.
Cue claims of Wray being part of the deep state, complaints about CNN, wild personal anecdotes, a handful of stories about Dem fraud while ignoring Republican fraud, confusion between ballot request forms and actual ballots, etc....
Oh to have such a simple and uncomplicated mind - that any time you hear something that doesn't line up with your own view, you call 'fake news'.
Well you can bet that should Trump win, Wray will be fired and as Bannon has predicted...Rudy will be FBI Director (God help us) Putin smiles
Now, it's wholly possible that Christopher Wray is totally right. But this is the same guy at the head of an agency that investigated NOOSES. This dude, while an anarchist insurrection attacked the United States, went on about white supremacists. His incompetence is NOT in question, and the only reason anyone likes him at this point is the appearance(of going against Trump), in reality, he's completely incompetent and unsuitable for that position. I don't think Giuliani should be the replacement pick, I think you literally need someone outside of the bureau(which will be a tough sell for McConnell but if Trump wins, he has no choice). You need someone who isn't pressured into investigating nooses, or the bonfire princess's story or any of that crap. You need someone, who can actually oversee the evidence, not be swayed by rumors and theories and hearsay. You need someone who can restore the credibility of the FBI and that credibility(that the IG himself scathed, so this is NOT a Trump thing) can only be restored by someone who is impartial towards the agency and can damn right punish those who cross the lines of professional ethics.
