Would you help support the formation of a new, non-profit (but still privately owned) news venue? This venue, known as For the People, or the FTP Network, will be funded by donations from the public and private charities. it will have no corporate sponsors, and no connections to any government agencies.

The network would operate as a 501(c) Non-Profit Corporation.

It will operate on tv the same as PBS does, except it will be paid by private means instead of tax money. It will have a morning, afternoon, and nightly news broadcast, in addition to a daily morning talk show, business/wallstreet news segments, and a political panel talk show (kind of like Real Time with Bill Maher). There will also be a weekly Dateline NBCish expose show, and a few political analyst shows. In addition to all of the news, political, and business shows, there would also be educational shows for kids.

The biggest thing is that this network would stand for non-partisanship and invite people from all parties to be part of it.

The end goal is to have a local FTP Network in all states, to deliver local news, and a national network to handle national and international news.
