Your article states that sea level rise is slower than expected but speculates, after fiddling with the data, that it will accelerate in the future.

It only seems "ludicrous" to you because you are so ignorant about this matter. In fact, yes, there are mountain glaciers and polar ice sheets that normally always remain frozen during the warmer interglacial periods, like the one the Earth is currently in, after all of the heavy glaciation that covered half of North America, Europe and Siberia melts off. It's been happening like that for the last two and a half million years of the Quaternary, or Pleistocene, Ice Age; long periods of heavy glaciation, broken by shorter periods of warmer climate (interglacials) with some ice sheets remaining at the poles, and some remaining high mountain glaciers.

Human caused global warming is currently rapidly melting the mountain glaciers and polar ice sheets in very un-natural ways that would not be occurring if mankind had not pumped hundreds of billions of tonnes of fossil carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, raising CO2 levels by 43% above normal so far, and still rising fast.

Here is some interesting reading if you have any real curiosity and seek any real knowledge besides AGW propaganda.

"During the first two-thirds of the Quaternary, the ice advanced and retreated roughly every 41,000 years – the same tempo as the changes in the tilt of Earth’s axis. About a million years ago, the ice switched to a 100,000-year cycle for reasons that were until recently a mystery. Now more detailed information about the timing of the ice’s movements may have helped glaciologists find an answer."

"To make matters more complicated still, the ice didn’t advance and retreat simultaneously all around the world. Often it would begin advancing on one continent, with the others only being covered thousands of years later, and then linger on a few continents several millennia after it had disappeared from the others."

    Kind of like now huh?

You can scream all you want how Humans are causing all this but Human Nature will prevail until there is fossil fuel left.

Nope! It is absolutely NOT "kind of like now".

Your pointless 'ice age' factoids have nothing to do with the current situation.

    You made this fraudulent claim:
And I debunked it, in post #93 with the plain facts about when the last 'ice age' started to end (20,000 years ago), finished ending (10,000 years ago), and when the ice sheets finally finished melting off and the sea levels stopped rising (7000 years ago), and the fact that sea levels have been very stable with only a very small rate of rise for the last 2000 years or more.

Your denier cult myth was completely bogus. Current sea level rise has nothing whatsoever to do with the melting of the ice sheets from the last 'ice age'. Currently, the accelerating rise in sea levels is being driven by the AGW driven heating of the oceans (thermal expansion) and the AGW driven melting of land based ice on Greenland and Antarctica, and the melting of the mountain glaciers.

Sea levels rose at increasing rates over the twentieth century and now that accelerating sea level rise is continuing into the twenty-first century.

You said there is ice that remains ice age or not and I showed you how wrong you were. Ice has in fact disappeared from some continents as it grew on others long before man and his so called C02 footprint. What is happening now is same ole same ole but the science and facts don't fit your AGW dogma so you keep the blinders on and chant your mantra. You need kidnaped and deprogramed before somebody starts passing out the Kool-Aid. "The end of times is here drink up brothers and sisters" LMAO

... `cause somebody said there's gonna be an ice age...

... so Granny had him put skis onna side.
    :grandma:
Now Granny gonna have `em take the skis off...

Nope! All you showed was how ignorant and confused you are.

    Ice Age
    Wikipedia
An ice age is a period of long-term reduction in the temperature of Earth's surface and atmosphere, resulting in the presence or expansion of continental and polar ice sheets and alpine glaciers. Within a long-term ice age, individual pulses of cold climate are termed "glacial periods" (or alternatively "glacials" or "glaciations" or colloquially as "ice age"), and intermittent warm periods are called "interglacials". Glaciologically, ice age implies the presence of extensive ice sheets in the northern and southern hemispheres.[1] By this definition, we are in an interglacial period—the Holocene—of the ice age that began 2.6 million years ago at the start of the Pleistocene epoch, because the Greenland, Arctic, and Antarctic ice sheets still exist.[2]

The current ice age, the Pliocene-Quaternary glaciation, started about 2.58 million years ago during the late Pliocene, when the spread of ice sheets in the Northern Hemisphere began. Since then, the world has seen cycles of glaciation with ice sheets advancing and retreating on 40,000- and 100,000-year time scales called glacial periods, glacials or glacial advances, and interglacial periods, interglacials or glacial retreats. The earth is currently in an interglacial, and the last glacial period ended about 10,000 years ago.
All that remains of the continental ice sheets are the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets and smaller glaciers such as on Baffin Island.

Glacials are characterized by cooler and drier climates over most of the earth and large land and sea ice masses extending outward from the poles. Mountain glaciers in otherwise unglaciated areas extend to lower elevations due to a lower
snow line. Sea levels drop due to the removal of large volumes of water above sea level in the icecaps. There is evidence that ocean circulation patterns are disrupted by glaciations. Since the earth has significant continental glaciation in the Arctic and Antarctic, we are currently in a glacial minimum of a glaciation. Such a period between glacial maxima is known as an interglacial. The glacials and interglacials also coincided with changes in Earth's orbit called Milankovitch cycles.

When all else fails run to WIKI. LMAO. Go back and actually read the link I gave you and pay special attentionto the parts that tell you how ice can and does disappear from continents between ice ages. Here is the quote for you

    .

Often it would begin advancing on one continent, with the others only being covered thousands of years later, and then linger on a few continents several millennia after it had disappeared from the others."

You mean, get the facts from an encyclopedia? Well, yes, that is the logical and sane thing to do.

Of course, looking at the facts is anathema to you denier cultists. You much prefer to only look at the bogus fantasies and pseudo-science that the fossil fuel industry propagandists cook up to deceive clueless ignorant morons like you.

A factoid that you are apparently too ignorant to realize has nothing whatsoever to do with the scientific fact that it is the continued presense of ice sheets at the poles over the last two and a half million years, whether the Earth is in a period of heavy glaciation (like the one that ended 10,000 years ago). or an interglacial period (like the present one), that is the determining factor that characterizes this whole two and a half million year period of time as an "Ice Age"....called the Quaternary.

You cannot hope to have a rational argument with someone that uses the term, 'denier cultists' so returning with 'warmer cultist' does nothing but bring you down to that level of irrational conversation. They have already dismissed much of the inconvenient science so no amount of fact you present will be considered.

No, it is not....it is actually a very long time when talking about the climate history that is relevant to the current abrupt warming trend that mankind has created by pumping hundreds of billions of tonnes of fossil fuel sourced CO2 into the Earth's atmosphere. Your personal ignorance of science is not a valid argument. Your presumptions are very retarded and wrong.

You keep saying totally bogus things about global warming and climate change when you are not only completely ignorant about the subject, you are filled with misinformation and lies.....you sound like an idiot...

    In the real world...

The American Geophysical Union (AGU) statement, adopted by the society in 2003, revised in 2007, and revised and expanded in 2013, affirms that rising levels of greenhouse gases have caused and will continue to cause the global surface temperature to be warmer:

"Human activities are changing Earth’s climate. At the global level, atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping greenhouse gases have increased sharply since the Industrial Revolution. Fossil fuel burning dominates this increase. Human-caused increases in greenhouse gases are responsible for most of the observed global average surface warming of roughly 0.8°C (1.5°F) over the past 140 years. Because natural processes cannot quickly remove some of these gases (notably carbon dioxide) from the atmosphere, our past, present, and future emissions will influence the climate system for millennia.

While important scientific uncertainties remain as to which particular impacts will be experienced where, no uncertainties are known that could make the impacts of climate change inconsequential. Furthermore, surprise outcomes, such as the unexpectedly rapid loss of Arctic summer sea ice, may entail even more dramatic changes than anticipated.
    "

    ***

The American Meteorological Society (AMS) statement adopted by their council in 2012 concluded:

There is unequivocal evidence that Earth’s lower atmosphere, ocean, and land surface are warming; sea level is rising; and snow cover, mountain glaciers, and Arctic sea ice are shrinking. The dominant cause of the warming since the 1950s is human activities. This scientific finding is based on a large and persuasive body of research. The observed warming will be irreversible for many years into the future, and even larger temperature increases will occur as greenhouse gases continue to accumulate in the atmosphere. Avoiding this future warming will require a large and rapid reduction in global greenhouse gas emissions. The ongoing warming will increase risks and stresses to human societies, economies, ecosystems, and wildlife through the 21st century and beyond, making it imperative that society respond to a changing climate. To inform decisions on adaptation and mitigation, it is critical that we improve our understanding of the global climate system and our ability to project future climate through continued and improved monitoring and research. This is especially true for smaller (seasonal and regional) scales and weather and climate extremes, and for important hydroclimatic variables such as precipitation and water availability.

Technological, economic, and policy choices in the near future will determine the extent of future impacts of climate change. Science-based decisions are seldom made in a context of absolute certainty. National and international policy discussions should include consideration of the best ways to both adapt to and mitigate climate change. Mitigation will reduce the amount of future climate change and the risk of impacts that are potentially large and dangerous. At the same time, some continued climate change is inevitable, and policy responses should include adaptation to climate change. Prudence dictates extreme care in accounting for our relationship with the only planet known to be capable of sustaining human life.

"The Administration" eh? That "evil" Obama, eh? LOLOLOLOLOLOL......you are such an idiot.....it says right there, in black and white: The American Geophysical Union (AGU) statement, adopted by the society in 2003, revised in 2007.......that Obama must be awfully good if he can retroactively "petition" them...LOLOL...you poor brainwashed dupe...

And here come the crackpot conspiracy theories....LOLOL....of course, the members of every science organization of any standing in every country all around the world support the formal positions that pretty much ALL of their professional organizations have taken supporting the reality and dangers of human caused global warming and its consequent climate changes....if they didn't they would be howling to high heaven....but in fact, almost every reputable scientist in the world supports the virtually unanimous conclusions of the climate scientists regarding human caused global warming.

LOLOLOL......you made a bogus claim about this Administration "petitioning" the scientific societies to support the reality of AGW. Your idiotic claim got debunked by the very information that you were retardedly looking right at: "The American Geophysical Union (AGU) statement, adopted by the society in 2003, revised in 2007". Most of the position statements on global warming and climate change by the world's premier scientific organizations were written well before Obama took office, you brainwashed dupe.

Now you're whining that when I point out your blind stupidity and error, I'm supposedly using a "logical fallacy".....LOLOL....you don't even understand what those words mean...

Incoherent meaningless drivel like this is why I put you on 'ignore' a long time ago. Your denier cult propaganda memes all got debunked and were shown to be lies....and your responses to that debunking have been just pathetic nonsense and a moronic refusal to accept reality. You are a waste of time. You are back on 'ignore' for good reason. Post any meaningless denier cult nonsense you want. You're too clueless and ignorant to even be worth the time it takes to repeatedly debunk your BS.

Thanks for proving the point that all you have is childish name calling and often yell typing. You have debunked nothing but don't let that get in the way of your fantasies. Continue to name call and rely on alarmism in the press and logical fallacies for your 'proof' for AGW, I will continue to read the science instead.
