I never watch SOTUs, regardless of who POTUS is. I have no patience for the staged kabuki, the endless laundry lists, and the inevitable cherry-picked Joe Sixpacks in the gallery. "Here's Cletus Toejam from Tyler, Tx. Cletus went to the emergency room with covid, and his left arm was accidentally amputated. His arm was reattached, but now Cletus has leprosy and genital warts. Here's how we're going to help Cletus and millions of Americans like him..."

Oh, Pelosi definitely stepped on Trump's toes, politically; but it was after the speech, which all had tuned in to watch, had concluded. The only thing she "interrupted," was the President's "victory lap" exit, which is not part of the State of the Union Address, IMO.

You can call it "immature," if you like, but you cannot call it an "interruption," of the SOTU-- as was the case with MTG's outbursts.

 

Three things:

1. I'm not a Democrat.

2. I've been involved in politics and voting since 1972, and I can assure you that Donald Trump was never their "darling." He was never anything but a bad joke.

3. If one expects morality, dignity, and empathy from their president, they got none from Trump. If you're okay with what he's always been: liar, cheater, crook, flim flam man, misogynist, unfaithful wretch with no ability to keep it zipped, and the emotional development of a two year old, then congratulations, you got what you wanted. Personally, I think America deserves better, and while far from perfect, Biden is better.

 

That isn't how debates work.

You tossed out some numbers that for all we know, you pulled out of thin air. Either back those numbers up with your source, or you've lost the debate.

Basic debate rules:

• The team supporting the motion must not shift its point of view.
• If a speaker makes a statement, they must be able to provide evidence or reasons to support the statement.
• Facts presented in a debate must be accurate.
• Speakers may not bring up new points in a rebuttal speech.

So, put up or shut up.

Not really. In many ways Biden is worse. Especially when it comes to actually running the country and handling foreign affairs. I'd take poor behavior in speaches things like the debacle in Afghanistan.
