Since the Anti Gun Nuts in NY can't take away guns they have decided to go after Ammunition, again. NY already has an Assault Weapons ban and limits all magazines to 10 rounds. So naturally they want apply more pressure on gun owners. What say ye?

State lawmakers from Brooklyn announced on Monday new draft legislation aimed at tightly restricting the sale of ammunition in New York.

The Senate and Assembly bills were drafted in an effort to keep potential terrorists from stocking up on ammo, according to sponsors state Sen. Roxanne Persaud and Assemblymember Jo Anne Simon. The twin bills are backed by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, who worked with Persaud and Simon to craft them.

The legislation would place a strict limit on the number of bullets a gun owner could purchase over a 90-day time period, and prevent gun dealers from selling ammunition for a firearm to anyone unauthorized to have such a weapon. Since the measure would cap the amount of ammunition to no more than twice the amount of the capacity of the weapon every 90 days, these gun owners would be limited to buying a dozen bullets every three months.

Penalty for the violation of this law would also be increased from a Class B misdemeanor, or not more than three months in jail and not more than $500 in fines, to a Class E felony, or up to four years in prison with a minimum of one year......snip~

I seriously would have to move out of NY. My passion is shooting competition and I shoot at least 1000 rounds a month. I also am a firearm instructor and any one in that business will go out of business.

Nevertheless, it goes without saying that this law is just absurd. First of all, anyone with a firearm who is barred from owning one via federal law is, uh, (shocker) breaking the law. Most, if not all, FFL dealers call the local police and the ATF if a flagged person is identified on the NICS system during a background check. So, the ammo provision is redundant. Second, it’s a logical fallacy that people who buy ammunition in bulk have pernicious intent. Some people spend an hour or more at the range. Hundreds of rounds of ammunition could be spent during that period.....snip~ same link.

Do you think any of these people are Bloomberg puppets? Who BO peep recently had a meeting with.

Going from a Class B misdemeanor to an E Felony with a min of one year, is ludicrous.

I'm sure the terrorists will comply. I mean they wouldn't break the law would they?

Have no fear. The courts have found making ammunition unavailable or too expensive is as unconstitutional as infringing on the right to keep and bear firearms by private citizens.

It proves NY's dedication to their war on guns and not gun violence.

I want to see some of the supporters of this crap pretend its designed to actually target criminals rather than recreational shooters. IT IS ILLEGAL for a Criminal to possess even one round.

this crap is useful in that it clearly shows what the BANITE politicians really are up to

    - - - Updated - - -

I cannot fathom any court actually allowing this crap to stand if its passed. it essentially destroys all target shooting. The K-80 skeet gun I made several Open all-american teams with only holds two shotgun shells. Today, My wife, son and I shot 4 rounds each of ISU doubles. 30 shots a round, 120 rounds for a 120 target match. think about it

Precisely what authority does the state of New York cite for saying that a standard marketed package of fifty to one hundred rounds of ammunition cannot be sold as is, and must instead be opened by the property holder, and the legal amount taken out and handed to the buyer?

Just think, someone with a Derringer could only buy 4 bullets every 90 days.

What makes you so sure this isn't a backdoor way to shut down gun shops as being accessories to felonies? I applaud them either way. At least they are trying to do something.

This would outlaw gun proficiency. Practice would be impossible.

Such a law would have exactly "zero" effect on terrorists.

An "arm" is not an "arm" unless it's loaded, so clearly, this draft legislation is an attempt to "infringe" on the right. Should easily be found "unconstitutional".

Just when you think they can't do anything more stupid...

I average about 500 rounds a week, some weekends over 1,000. Why; because it's training. How do they expect law abiding gun owners, especially new shooters, to perfect their skills? Dry fire is good, but it is only practice for live fire.

Sadly leftists dont understand what you just wrote. They dont understand because their motive isnt to disarm terrorists their motive is to disarm you. They are also terrorists because they are attacking us from within. The only defense against this attack is our votes. Remember this and tell your friends, family and co workers this at voting time.

    Sure.

You know what else would be effective?

Limiting you to one tweet per day, one facebook post per day, and 3 minutes on the internet per day.

That would cut down on terrorists being able to communicate after all.

Camera's monitored by the government placed in everyone's house would help.

    Ban ski masks would help.

Burning books that contain dangerous knowledge would prevent them knowing how to make IEDs.

Outlawing machine shops and putting a government official in each one would cut down on illegal devices.

Designing cars to only hold one occupant would stop drive bys.

Limiting you to 10 gallons of gas per week would stop arsonists.

I mean, we should applaud those things, it's doing SOMETHING.

Here are the those responsible.....with a little direction from the sawed off runt, Bloomberg.

Oh, and Brooklyn has their own President, huh? [IMG]

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, who worked with Persaud and Simon to craft them.....snip~

Is there any reason to let them hide in their sheltered backyards? Should they not be fronted off daily to the Entire Nation as those that want to take Rights from Other Americans. Given the perception of what they are?

Should not life be made difficult for them and their family. Whenever they go out in public?

When they see and feel the consequences of their own actions.....that's when the mindset changes.

I see leisurely drives to the neighboring states becoming much more common. Cuomo is the first openly retarded governor who only really seeks to drive as many citizens and businesses out of upstate as possible in order to convert NY from a simple blue state to a communist one.

Over here in Democrat land.....Chicago's population has dropped to the levels it had in the 1940's. (No not from all the shootings. Just sayin)

Businesses both small and large are leaving.....People are moving out and leaving.

For years we had the strictest gun laws in the nation with the Demos outright defying the Constitution. Doing all they can to make it difficult for someone in the city to own a gun.

Even now they went after those that were teaching and had certifications. Limiting the number of those who train people how to handle firearms.

Now its taxing firearms and ammunition.
