It is fact. Google "Henry George Theorem."
That is just another bald falsehood from you.
Because it is unjust and harmful. You, by contrast, like it because it is profitable to you personally, at others' expense. Simple.

Because I am not privileged, and would prefer justice.
The facts of economics I identify are not opinions.

I resent that the privileged have prospered unjustly, jeopardizing everyone's prosperity, and want to change the rules to ensure justice and sustainable prosperity.

BTW, that is the exact same evil, disingenuous filth that slave owners used to justify slavery to the abolitionists.

I have explained why it will benefit almost everyone except the top few percent biggest landowners; and that is not an opinion, it is a fact.

That is exactly the same evil, disingenuous filth that slave owners said to the abolitionists. You just like being able to own other people's rights to liberty, and charge them rent for permission to exercise those rights. Simple.

what are going to be the institutional costs in implementing it? I own about 500 acres-a 26 acre farm I live on, and a 460 or so acre commercial farm that I own with my brothers. There is almost no buildings on the latter property-it is managed by a bank and tenant farmed. its value comes from the crops.

OH THE DRAMA-and me owning property doesn't interfere with you exercising any rights whatsoever.

The fact that it will benefit almost everyone but the top few percent largest landowners is not an opinion, it is a fact of economics.

Much less than the cost of the current system. The assessments could be done on a modest computer in an afternoon and sent out in a monthly bill, like utility bills.
    Shocker!!
No. Its unimproved value (which is the only value I would tax) comes from the services and infrastructure government provides (paid for by other people's taxes), the opportunities and amenities the community provides, and the physical qualities nature provides at that location. You may notice the absence from that list of anything that you provide.

actually the taxes that we pay on the land more than pay for any benefit we get from the government. who do you think pays most of the taxes? at a local level, it's property taxes and income taxes. at a federal level, income taxes and death taxes for those of us who actually pay federal taxes

    Fact.
No, that is just another bald falsehood from you. Ownership of a natural resource like a land parcel indisputably removes my pre-existing liberty right to use it, the liberty right that our remote ancestors exercised to survive for millions of years. You just prefer to own everyone else's rights to liberty.

that's moronic. if two people are married, you can claim that this deprives you of the "right" to have sex with one or both of them. You hate the concept of private property. Your remote ancestors would have killed someone who invaded their turf, or died trying.

No they do not, as the unimproved value of the land proves.
    The productive.
GARBAGE. In which states are property taxes more than the sum of income tax and sales taxes? Oh, wait a minute, that's right: none.
Garbage. The estate tax raises almost no revenue. The federal gas tax raises more. Income tax should be abolished.

the top one percent pay far more than they get in federal benefits. will your scheme decrease my taxes? Florida doesn't have income taxes BTW. I know tons of very wealthy people-such as my brother-who live in NYC. they don't have much in terms of land. he has millions in stock. He pays about 500K a year in FIT. another 100 or more in State income taxes. what sort of taxes would he pay under your scheme

    It is fact.
No, because you simply made that up; there is no such right: they have to consent. Do you know what "rape" means?
No, that is just another bald falsehood from you. I have stated many times, including to you, that private property in the fruits of one's labor is rightful and beneficial.
Garbage. Until Roman times, when private property in land was invented, territoriality was generally communal or clan-based, not private or individual. Google "common land," and start reading. Graeber and Wengrow's "The Dawn of Everything" explains the emergence of private landowning fairly well. People shared common land because they understood, as you do not, that they benefited from their neighbors using nearby land. What was private property was the crops, livestock, etc. people produced on the land by their labor, not the land itself; and secure, exclusive tenure was allocated and enforced by the community, not the individual user.

your existence in a certain geographical area does not give you any claim to property, real estate etc

I already proved that's false. The value of their assets almost all comes from government, and except for land, their value is mainly from federal spending.
Probably, if you are among the productive majority and not the top few percent of landowners. Well over 90% of people would pay less in combined taxes and land rent with my system, most of them far less. Most people would have double, triple, even quadruple their real, disposable income.
Wrong. It has a substantial state corporate income tax, which I would abolish.
    Shocker!!
Yes, well, in NYC, you don't have to have a lot of land to have a lot of publicly created land value.
I have no idea. But his stocks are probably mostly privilege value, and I would remove such privileges, so he'd likely have little left.

Right. Our remote ancestors would have considered it inconceivable that people could claim to own land. What my existence, in any area, gives me a right to is liberty: the freedom to use what nature provided for all to sustain myself, the same right our remote ancestors exercised to survive for millions of years.

The Henry George Theorem was proved by Nobel economics laureate Joseph Stiglitz. Very few people these days are acquainted with Henry George's views, and I don't know of anyone who can claim to have refuted them.
IMO that more accurately describes your spew of economic misinformation.

And on your planet, that might be relevant. People's rights don't depend on when they live.

yeah I figured you hate capitalism. he owns part of a corporation. so you want to get rid of corporations. sounds like anarcho-syndicalism mixed together with a seething hatred of capitalism.
