Making your own dressing is probably tastier though. I'm actually not a very big fan of pasta salad. I prefer macaroni salad with Miracle Whip. I know, I know, unhealthy, but really good. I put celery, red peppers, red onion, some celery salt, regular salt, pepper and hard boiled eggs cut up as well as tuna. Yum! I made two batches last week. The first batch was ruined because I put in these bonnet peppers which I was told were not very hot, but they were VERY hot! I couldn't even eat them. My mouth and lips were on fire! So I made a new batch sans hot peppers.
I don't care for miracle whip. I would much rather use whipped cream. But i do like to make a variation of Waldorf salad. Cut up crisp red apples, add red and green seedless grapes, raisins, pecans, and cover with mayo mixed with sugar to taste...love it.
Lol! I LOVE Miracle Whip in some things, like egg salad or macaroni salad, but I prefer regular mayo when having a tuna sandwich. Have you ever cut up some pickles (sweet or dill - doesn't matter) and put that in your tuna. It tastes SO much better with some pickles in there.
I usually use pickle relish. I just canned a bunch along with my other pickles. Also use it for chicken salad or ham salad.
Sounds good! I like any kind of fruit salad. I usually make mine with just berries, raspberries, strawberries, black berries and lots of sugar. Sugar and sweets - - my weakness.
Why sugar it? There was a really interesting program here called "The sugar free farm" https://angeliquepanagos.com/sugar-free-farm-home/ Sugar like salt is something that the more we have the less we taste. 2-3 weeks without sugar and suddenly you have reset your tastebuds to Wow!!
Especially candy and chocolate, cookies and cake for me. I would say chocolate is almost an addiction.
If I eat donuts, it's usually the glazed or chocolate frosted and sometimes the jelly munchkins (I don't like the big jelly donuts), but today I had a strawberry frosted donut. OMG, so good.
That reminded me of when my nephew had to talk me through my computer problems by phone (I'm so thick with computers you wouldn't believe it! ). The exchanges would go something like this: Him: 'First you have to do A.' Me: 'Right, I've done that.' Him: 'Well done - now do B.' Me: 'Done!' Him: 'Excellent. Now do C, then hit Return.' Me: 'Nope, it's still not working.' Him: 'Still not working? That's funny, it should be! Did you do D?' Me: 'No.' Him: 'Why not?' Me: 'You didn't tell me to.' Him: 'Well I thought you'd know that!'
Okay, to be fair, my source was talking about English cakes. But, I feel the difference between 'Merican Bri'ish cakes is small.
I've never had an "English" cake, so I couldn't say. What is different? Cake is cake. It's made from flour, eggs, sugar, leavening, butter, etc. *shrugs*
No, cake is not cake. It is like saying food is food. Every country obviously has their own specialities and tricks. I cannot remember exactly why he found "English cake" to be bad, but he said the cakes in Sweden are much better.
