http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/04/...a-surat-ground-during-scuffle-instagram-video Ok, I'm a huge advocate for law enforcement. HUGE. But watching this video, I can think of 5 ways to immediately restrain this suspect before slamming her jaw into the concrete. If this officer couldn't figure this out, he should be fired. The agency says that there's more to the story and that the body cams will reveal the full issue, but that doesn't mean anything to me. In this instance, with the little resistance she placed, he could have easily rendered her in a hand-lock using the crossed-finger technique we all learned in training. He had plenty of time to do anything but slam her to the ground. Thoughts?
I've watched the video numerous times. Given his size against hers, the limited resistance her body posture was offering, and the area, he could have easily detained her in a more professional manner.
I saw that this morning... Supposedly she has a problem with bouncers and police, but I'm with you on this one. She's probably 110 pounds, no way that cop couldn't easily restrain her. But I HAVE seen instances where police went to restrain someone and that person's feet slipped out from under them and made that takedown look a lot worse than it was meant to be. I'll see how the facts unfold before I make my judgement. I guess in the meantime we'll have to hear from the left about cops being sexists.
It's possible her feet slipped, but given the angle of his hip (in wrestling we call that move the Cowboy, or hip toss), and her size, it looked like a blatant toss to me. I'm not giving him the benefit of the doubt here.
He didn't actually body slam her. I wish I could watch the video in slow motion. Looks like he tried to put her arm behind her and for sure used too much force. Looks like she started falling forward and his force he used acted as a boost. The lass should get some money out of this one.
When a cop tells someone they are under arrest, it's up to the individual how that arrest goes down. If they resist they might end up with their face slamming the concrete. I hate it for the woman but I don't have any empathy for her. She chose to mess with the bull.
I disagree. This is a trained hip toss. Look at his leg before the toss. It's placed strategically in front of hers. It's classic hip toss
Normally I agree with you, but there are ethical guidelines too. This breached them. Or at least it breached what I was taught in the academy. What were you taught?
It was harsh, no doubt about that. I just think there was inertia involved that made it look worse than it was or should have been. If that's her mugshot in your link then she's not even hurt.
That's how it looks, absolutely... I'm not disagreeing with you at all, but I do have my reservations about the situation that took place.
I was taught you mess with a cop, they kick your ass. It's not a question of if they are going to take you to jail once they decide, it's a question of how you want to arrive. I've been arrested more times than I care to admit and I have never been treated that way. Of course I never resisted because I know what happens when you do. She made her concrete bed, not the officer.
Looks like she got yanked and slipped. But hahah holy **** she got REKT! I'm guessing next time miss all that is going to follow police commands.
"mess with a cop, they kick your ass". What you just described is illegal. A cop has no authority to "kick your ass" unless he or she is in physical danger, the public is in danger, or if it's a tactical maneuver signed off ahead of time (IE: raids) for public safety.
Most women can barely walk in heels like that, so I have to imagine they contributed heavily to her little gymnastics routine. I'm guessing this is the last time she'll shoulder-check a bouncer. I just find myself thinking it's a good thing she's not black... or Ft. Collins would be on fire today.
1. I don't care what happened with the bouncer. That's irrelevant to the use of force here. Some little girl shoulder checks a 250 pound man, I'm not going to slam her on her face. I'm going to do what I was trained to do, place her hands in a finger lock, lift her arms up which sends her to the ground in a professional manner. 2. I didn't start this thread to talk about race. 3. I support LEOs and was training to be one (left the academy on military orders) so I have the utmost respect for them
I think this is much ado about nothing. And I do think her "**** me heels" had a lot to do with her pavement nap.
The cop certainly had a grip on her left hand and also had his other hand on her right arm, my judgment was it would have been easy for the cop to do the finger lock and just turn her around to cuff her. I must add the woman is an idiot. When encountering the police the least resistance equals fewer bruises.
I looked at it twice and I am not seeing what you did. He flipped her. His leg wasn't in front of hers, for a hip toss. As much (rather little) as she weighed, it wouldn't have taken much. Anyway, I am usually the first to call out police brutality, but there are too few details for me to call it one way or another. What was the situation? Why was she detained? If she was robbing someone (unlikely in a dress and high heels), sure. If it was a domestic dispute, probably not. IMO, there are too few details to the story to see whether it was justified or not, but it does look bad. Especially given the reaction of the bystander (boyfriend?).
Spare me the bs about legality. A law didn't stop that woman from eating concrete. It's the way the world works. In the moment if one's well being matters to them they better not resist.
That's NOT what police are trained to do in a situation like this. I've had that training. There's a much more simpler way to handle it and I have listed it 3 or 4 times on here.
I'm not sure about this lawless police force you dream of, but I don't want us to turn into North Korea.
