The stock market has entered a correction, with dips in the DOW not seen since October 2008, the time of the Great Recession. While most Americans who don’t have thousands to invest likely have not benefited from a stock market with record highs, what goes up must come down and it’s coming down hard. As suspected.

The Chinese are to blame for the virus pandemic. SARS should have taught them not to sell live animals for dinner. Supply chains have been disrupted, conventions cancelled, with auto suppliers now warning of shortages. The price of meds may also see an uptick, with companies paying an 50% increase in raw materials. It trickles down, and in the end hurts pocketbooks of middle class Americans.

How does this tie into Trump? His greatest weapon, the economy, may have just become a liability, not an asset in getting re-elected. No longer able to point to the stock market. Saying such a virus will die off as Spring and Summer approach is ignorant thinking. Other countries, nearly all with infected citizens, go through different seasons. Simply because it’s no longer flu season doesn’t guarantee relief from the coronavirus pandemic. Trump should know this.

It takes 6 months to develop a vaccine once it gets FDA approval. This will take us within 60-90 days of Election Day. If for some reason the virus is resistant to the vaccine, or cases jump as summer takes effect, this will not reflect kindly on the president.

This virus and the politicization of it is the democrats last great hope to get our President. That people may die and others lose their retirement, Heath, and kids education savings is not too big a price to pay as far as democrats are concerned to defeat this President. Truly sad.

I have not heard 6 months. That indeed would be super fast, but highly unlikely. Generally, a vaccine takes anywhere from 12-18 months to develop. As I understand it, this Covid19 is still "morphing" which is why it's spread and severity is so high. In general, viruses don't want to kill their host, so it's still evolving to reach a state of equilibrium.

Israel may well have a vaccine ready in 90 days or so.

If you look up the details, the vaccine doesn't even exist yet and hence still to be tested on animals. You would then need at least a year to do human testing before it's anywhere near considered safe to give to healthy people. Loads of companies are saying that they are only months away from a vaccine - it's just a marketing ploy
