You think that dumping $40B on the border is going to "buy" Democratic votes???

If so, why is TRUMP dumping mone there?

It DID pass the Senate and it would have passed the House if the Republican Speaker hadn't blocked it. (How often do I have to point this out???)

The rest of your post is indecipherable.

I'd also point out that the $40B figure was a REPUBLICAN demand.

So, how many REPUBLICAN votes were they trying to buy??

But, no. Your EMPTY accusations stand on their own - they only demonstrate ignorance of the issue.

The border must be secured as a preliminary condition to any negotiation on the legal status of the 20,000,000 illegally in this country. The reason for the requirement is obvious.

Why then won’t Democrats pass the $40B for the border first ?? The reason for that is obvious.

The Republican demand was for $40B to secure the border.

That's total BS. There is NO such reason.

The 2013 bill addressed those who had been in America for a significant period of time. So, anyone "rushing the border" to beat some deadline would lose LONG BEFORE they even started.

AGAIN, you make these crazy comments without even bothering to know what the legislation says. Thus, you come to conclusions that reasonably smart people have long since solved.

The problem here is that the whole problem needs to be solved.

And, addressing it piecemeal is a dead loser.

Besides, I DON'T like all the features in the 2013 bill. But, as a rational compromise that WILL work, I do back it.

And, that's how law gets made. Rational law doesn't get made by trying to cram back room partisan nonsense down people's throats - like Republicans have done on healthcare and immigration already.

Yes - and Dems agreed with the package AS A WHOLE.

That does NOT mean that Dems and Repos agreed with each element in the bill.

Congress exists IN ORDER TO CREATE COMPROMISES.

If we didn't care about compromise (and since we no longer believe in "checks and balances") we could just disband congress and let the president create the law.

The entire problem cannot be solved without securing the border. The reason eludes ???

The border comes first. The compromises follow but not until the border is secured.

No, the fact is that your idea that an order of events is required is total nonsense.

Actions such as changing our visa system (which is how half come here), fixing and enforcing e-verify, and other actions slow people from crossing and can be done without ANY impact to our work on the border.

There is NO reason to wait - AT ALL!

Why do you object to building the wall first ??

Well, nobody has come up with ANY reason that progress on denying immigrants reasons and ways for coming here CAN NOT BE IMPLEMENTED until more wall is built.

You're just one more poster whose logic is "no it isn't" - an argument I suggest is rather weak!

calling your logic stupid doesn't require an argument.
