You build your own nation based on your initial beliefs, then answer "legislation" questions to guide your nation further. It's a cool way to see how the policies you implement would effect a country/society. It really shows your political ideology, so I thought it would be perfect to share. I've played on and off since high school. It's really just a time sink. I do however recommend the book Jennifer Government that inspired the site It's a great demonstration of how an Anarcho capitalist world would be just as big a dystopia as 1984.

I've made it a personal challenge to only have the government interfere in people's lives or the economy only to protect rights or correct for legitimate market failure. I need to start scaling back my government because I'm above 25% of my GDP in expenditures.
Very interesting. Would you say this nation reflects how you would really run a country, or are you trying to achieve something specific in the game? Your expenditure is 25%, mine is at 66.8% haha
It's actually at 28.5%. Whenever I go above 25% I institute a mini-austerity with cut backs in future spending under my GDP has grown enough that I'm no longer spending on the government at more than 25%. And yes, my personal goal reflects how I would really run a government: hands-off people's social lives with the government only getting involved in the economy to correct for externalities and the like.

No, dont waste money on that crap. The game is boring and sucks very hard. And ita biased like no other. Not very well designed either. Just a horrible game. I dont recommend it to anyone.
What's wrong with it specifically? And what do you mean by biased? It's definitely not the best game I've ever played, but I enjoy it, especially on Steam with the mods avaialble. - - - Updated - - - For fellow NS players, what is your stance on issues where you don't like the options?
