All right, this is a poem that got stuck in my head while I was listening to the Eric Clapton song of the same name. I'm really not trying to patronize him, but sometimes things pop into my head. So here it is:

    Crossroads

    Going down to the crossroads
I must get there on my knees
    Going down to the crossroads
I wonder who I will see
    Going down to the crossroads
Man do I feel like a flea

My mothers gone back to her twenties
    She doesn’t recognize me
My sisters stuck in her twenties
    And she doesn’t recognize me
    My father’s in his twenties
As is as happy as he could be

I struck out from the crossroads
    Seeking eternity
I struck out from the crossroads
Is it something that I flee
I struck out from the crossroads
    Starry skies are above me

What's the theme, the focus, the meaning?

I know what the original means, I'm interested to hear yours.
